  2. It just hit me that at some point next year, most of us will have been on this website for ten years. That's f***ing wild to me. It really doesn't feel like it's been that long. Knowing I'll have 10-year-old posts on here at that point makes me wonder how much f***ing dumb ass s*** I've said on this site over the years.
  3. I was an editor-in-chief/managing editor for an esports media publication. Basically did everything from hiring and onboarding to writing, editing, social media, SEO management and payroll. Hoping to land on my feet somewhere else in the sports media industry.
  4. Thank you for the kind words brother. Means a lot and I genuinely appreciate it. Turns out that I was one of the people that was let go. Almost my entire full-time team was. From what I gather, they only kept four full-timers out of a staff of like 20. Besides that, the only people they kept were freelancers. Looks like they want to pivot to a cheaper model and see how much traffic they can still generate. Gonna try to keep my chin up and see if I can land on my feet. Will see how easy that is to do with my anxiety and persistent depressive disorders, lol.
  5. Still tracking minute-by-minute updates on Reddit, btw! Follow along here:
  6. Appreciate it! Haha sorry homie. I was gutted to find out I missed the draft but I've been down and depressed bad on baseball the last few months and lost track. Wasn't even coming on here (or reddit, haha) so I missed it. I gave BTS my number though so he can hit me up in the future for stuff like this so I don't miss it.
  7. Tracking everything from today here if anyone wants to follow along:
  8. There's a fairly easy way to fix the problem: If a player exhausts his rookie eligibility, he gets credit for his first year of service. The second a batter has completed his 130th at-bat or a pitcher has thrown his 50th inning, he's guaranteed to end the season with 1.000 service time, regardless of how much more or little he plays. The remaining 5 years of service are calculated the same way as they are now. Simple. Teams couldn't hold players down anymore or they'd have to wait till the last quarter of the season.

  10. lmao, I feel like this could only happen to the Mets, but Elian Soto is in fact not signing with them. He's reached an agreement with the Nationals.
  11. Might as well start this now. Juan Soto's little brother Elian Soto has reached a verbal agreement with the Mets.
  12. lmao, if you suppressed high-level free agent salaries and lowered the luxury tax, the Blue Jays would never get a blue chip free agent again. You'd have the exact same situation you have with the Raptors in the NBA. If players can only make a certain amount, they will have way more options and will always pick a warmer, lower tax, American city. The only way the Jays can get premium free agents is under the current system, where they can overpay for them. You'd also have a much harder time acquiring players like Donaldson and Berrios under your proposed system. If smaller market teams are forced to spend more, they're going to choose to use those dollars on players like that instead of trading them away.
  13. And the Minor Leaguers in this scenario represent the people. In that nobody actually gives a f*** about them.
  14. At this point, can we just merge the two threads together and unlock the first one? This thread has nothing but garbage in it, at least the other one had some information on the CBA in the first few posts.

  16. Perhaps the most jarring thing you'll ever see as a baseball fan and the biggest wake-up call that Baseball is now in its first work stoppage in a generation: MLB.com has been scrubbed of all active MLB players. The home page does not mention any active players in any capacity, the "Players" section of the site has been killed and removed from the navigation menu, the Video library has been hidden and all player photos have been removed. This is most likely because the MLB no longer has rights to using the players' likeness since no CBA exists between the two parties. http://mlb.com
