  1. Corner of Church and Wellesley, 11:30 AM, bring your "boys".
  2. You're one of the most beautiful people to be around when you're drunk. It's an article, Spanky. Sober up.
  3. lol, you mean LaCava. http://i.gyazo.com/8d759cb5a169b150eedde58050cf7daa.png
  4. Nobody likes the Orioles. http://coedbc.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/robert-andino.jpg
  5. It's not just him, his sons are higher on the totem pole than Duquette as well. If I'm not mistaken, John Angelos is the executive VP of the Orioles, and over the past three or so years, Louis Angelos' role with the organization has also begun to expand. Further than that, it's the worst kept secret in baseball that Showalter already has tremendous pull within the organization and it's almost unanimously accepted that he's going to eventually get the promotion to General Manager. There's a reason LaCava said no to the Orioles, and there's a reason why they had to bring in Duquette from the scrap pile when nobody else had a job for him; nobody wants to work for Angelos, and now that Duquette has reestablished his name and he's getting offered a far more lucrative position in an organization where he'll have a lot more freedom, why the hell would anyone in their right mind not want to pursue that opportunity? Everybody hates Peter Angelos, and I fully understand if Duquette wants out of the bengay-scented Angelos and Buck sandwich.
  6. Between Markakis, Miller and Cruz leaving and the front office standing pat and all this drama about Duquette and the MASN dispute and now this All-Star game stuff and the fact that Cito still rings their bells, there's so much actively available schadenfreude at the expense of O's fans, it's f***ing beautiful.
  7. lmfao, there's an article on Camden Chat that's claiming that the fact that the Padres got the 2016 all-star game was out of personal spite from the MLB against the Orioles over the MASN case, and that MLB was only "dangling" the possibility of an All-Star game in Baltimore to try and bribe them into being flexible in the court. Oh and wanna guess what two names were mentioned within the first ten comments on the discussion thread? If you guessed Mike Mussina and Cito Gaston, you were right. http://i.gyazo.com/723a9f0cb9c946378418b26b541e9381.png
  8. Was about to say the same. Gregerson, Neshek, Rasmus, Lowrie, Gattis, Valbuena and Vogelsong. Interesting is probably the best word to describe it. Lots of potentially hidden and under-appreciated value there.
  9. Exactly. http://i.gyazo.com/dcc21f381c6e0e42d630ad40216d3fe3.png
  10. I didn't say posters here, I said Jays fans in general. There was a very widely accepted sentiment that the Jays should cling on to Farrell until Boston hires a manager, and then fire him and leave him out of a job. Outside of our little world here, there's a very large portion of this fanbase that are just as much the dumb mongrels that O's Hangout is -- just look at any comments section on Sportsnet, TSN, Twitter or wherever else. I literally saw Pedroia mentioned as compensation by multiple internet commenters, and there were probably as many Jays fans that thought we were getting Buchholz as there are O's fans that think they'll be getting Pompey. We're fortunate that we have a site like this to post on, I'd be miserable if I was an O's fan and the most active outlet to discuss the team was that board.
  11. The best and funniest part in all of this is that this is almost an exact representation of how Jays fans behaved in the Farrell situation, with the only major difference of course being that Jays fans hated Farrell and wanted him gone, while O's fans are in a clingy abusive relationship with Duquette and will dig their nails through all layers of his flesh before they let him go.
  12. The "five others": http://i.gyazo.com/0dc865ae85a740cb90e775528e7db694.png Canseco: Hilarious Blair: Creepy Stroman: Disappointing MacArthur: Ugh Bautista: Well, of course
  13. Comment from an O's board poster: "Also if the Orioles eventually decide to let DD go it should be after the Blue Jays fill their CEO/GM position. Bad behavior from the Blue Jays and DD should not be rewarded. You can make DD a powerless figurehead if you want." Saltines as f*** http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing002.gif

  15. I don't know, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be too much. Badenhop's been one of the guys I've been mentioning since the start of the offseason and I think he'd be a great pick up. He'd really strengthen the pen. I still think Crain is the best option on the market, but given that we haven't heard a damn thing about him, who knows what his story is going into the season.
  16. The difference is that Dan's beard is magnificent, and Lind was sporting ginger goat pubes.
  17. Or the one that acts gay to get into the girls locker room.
  18. I've actually held the belief for a while now that he's a brilliant troll.
  19. I tried getting Popcorn Time at some point last year and I got the impression that it was only offered on Android at the time. Maybe it's because I was trying to get it on my iPad, and didn't consider if it was offered on PC or not. Gonna download it now and give it a shot, thanks for the reminder.

  21. Like I said, I do think he's an ace -- I think he's an incredible pitcher that is probably going to continue to get better. What I don't believe is that he should get the biggest pitching contract in history, while knowing that there is a very strong chance that he will. Where Donaldson lacks vs Strasburg (age, higher salary in years 3 and 4 of arb) he compensates for in durability. In terms of trade value, Donaldson isn't nearly the injury risk that Strasburg is, and plays a less volatile position. Donaldson just turned 29, while Strasburg will be turning 27 around the all-star break. There's only a difference of 2 years and change, hardly a huge gap. Donaldson's age is where most guys hit free agency and command 7-10 year contracts. Strasburg will hit free agency at the same age and probably pick up an 8 year deal. Imagine Donaldson just hit free agency at the age of 29 and we got him on a 4 year 50M contract. Yeah I don't think anyone would be worried about decline on a deal like that.
  22. How much did the Jays ask for when your beloved Orioles asked them for permission to speak with Tony LaCava, while he was still under contract with the Toronto Blue Jays? The answer to that question is strikingly similar to the amount of credibility Orioles fans have when making demands about compensation.
  23. I accept that. "shomi shill" is probably one of the lower pegs on the societal totem pole.
