  1. Probably like John and Louis Angelos.
  2. You're just now learning that the heads over at Rogers are idiots? Were you asleep this past year? I forget who it was, but I read somewhere that AA has had deals lined up for Navarro that he was told to hold on to until the DD mess was sorted out. Seems like a realistic thing that could have happened, seeing as how Navarro is a potential chip to send the O's. Also would make sense why the D-Backs suddenly got up and decided they didn't need a catcher. Could they have had a deal, and got fed up of waiting? Who knows.
  3. They do, and I used to think Morosenthal were essentially the same thing, but I learned over the past week or so that Morosi is garbage. Rosenthal is a far better reporter, even though they're pretty much joined at the god damn hip.
  4. McCown needs to stop "wondering" about baseball.
  5. We don't have A's and Rays fans coming here talking s*** about empty seats.
  6. Congratulations on your team's truly immense success over the last three years. You scraped into the playoffs in 2012 with a wild card and the lowest run differential among playoff teams and then got beat in the first round by your "MFY"s, and you won the division in a year where everyone else was down in 2014, and got cleanly swept by Kansas City shortly after. Your team hasn't touched a pennant in over 30 years, and despite what the size of your egos would indicate, no, two unimpressive fluke-like playoff berths in the last three years don't compensate for your club's spectacularly atrocious play in the years leading up to it, and an incredibly mediocre three decades. And while there's nothing more embarrassing than fans of two bad teams throwing s*** at each other, we can take solace in knowing that the Jays look like the superior team between the two leading into the coming season, and for the foreseeable future. Enjoy rooting for a ball club that is run by a GM that wants nothing to do with it.
  7. You mean like the Blue Jays who have the longest playoff drought in sports right now? No, not quite like the Blue Jays. Orioles 90-loss seasons since 1980: 12 (1987, 1988, 1991, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011) Jays 90-loss seasons since 1980: 1 (2004) Last time Orioles won a championship: 1983 Last time Jays won a championship: 1993 Orioles most recent run of "success" (2012, 2014): 1 Wild Card, 1 Division Title, 0 Pennants, 0 World Series, 2,283,357 average fan attendance Jays most recent run of success (1992, 1993): 2 Division Titles, 2 Pennants, 2 World Series, 4,043,133 average fan attendance

  9. It seems people in Baltimore are just generally used to crying and making up ******** excuses... To wit (regarding the stupid ongoing football deflating scandal): http://i.gyazo.com/5f937069304eb55d2f541bf1cefa8662.png Above excerpt taken from here.
  10. It's nothing like the situation with Orioles fans. We know that Duquette wants out of Baltimore because we can deduce that pretty safely by how he's responded in the media throughout the whole fiasco. We don't know that this has actually been done behind Beeston's back. As Davidi reported near mid-season last year, Beeston's contract expired in October, before all of this came to the forefront. He didn't sign an extension, so I think he probably knew the team was going to start looking for a new president. If Beeston was disgruntled about the whole thing, he could leave at any time. He's not on a contract, and if he felt he was on borrowed time until they found a new guy, why wouldn't he say f*** this and leave? The likeliest scenario is that Beeston knows the search is going on and has done the professional thing in agreeing to stay on till they can find a replacement. Worst case scenario, they did go behind his back, Beeston feels angry and slighted, but has almost no control over the actual baseball ops of the team, so it still has next to no significance for the fans or the team itself. Even if he was upset though, I can't imagine Beeston getting in the way of Alex's business. They're great friends and their offices are glued together.
  11. lmao, this is the updated version from 2013 (ratings are still out of 35 total cities): http://i.gyazo.com/9120764324f0ac11c8233e13726c02b5.png Makes totally perfect sense now. Incredibly passionate fans who are generally hard-wired, rude, ghetto, and stupid as f***. Recipe for success. Explains exactly why all of our interactions with Orioles fans goes as it does, and why O's Hangout is how it is.
  12. LMAO, holy s***, everyone who travels to Baltimore really does hates it as much as you'd think they would. f***ing hell, the residents THEMSELVES rated their people 34/35 in attractiveness, 28/35 in intelligence, and 27/35 in friendliness.
  13. http://i.gyazo.com/f19dc63f09fe0d746e2591da876e4d5f.png You guys are like the dude that gets dumped in front of everybody and then tried to act tough like you're over it, while tears are visibly streaming down your face.
  14. This isn't true. Mariners fan base is hilarious, at least the guys over on Lookout Landing. Look through the thread about the Saunders trade. Most of the guys there were totally unhappy about the move, but most of the comments were still light-hearted and humorous, despite a s*** situation that none of them should have been happy with. http://i.gyazo.com/6e381b8d25d34c304c8ad9fe1228ed74.png Though that is kind of consistent with SB Nation in general, a lot of their fan bases are a just generally a lot "classier" than most of those that you encounter on forums.
  15. Who gives a f***? Angelos is not a big deal. I don't know why he thinks, and why Baltimore fans think that he's such an important man. If he was as much of a tough son of a bitch as he's being made out to be, 90% of what we're hearing in the news wouldn't be forcibly leaked by the old shitter himself. He's desperate because he knows he's in a situation where he's between a rock and a hard place. He either publicly bends over and submits and gives up Duquette, or he forces a guy to stay against his own wishes. He has absolutely no leverage, which is why we're now hearing of reports that the Orioles are considering blackmailing the Jays against a "tampering charge". We know nothing about how much of a moron Ed Rogers really is. He hasn't spoken on the matter. All we know is what fossilized idiots like Bob Elliott have reported, and Elliott talks more out of his ass than he does out of his mouth. Is there a miniscule chance that Rogers is a raging idiot and will make a dumb decision? Yes. But there is an exponentially greater chance that when all is said and done, trade or no trade, Orioles fans will be left bitter, angry, and completely unsatisfied about the whole thing. Which I guess is okay, since that's your fan base's general composure all the time.
  16. The amazing thing about this situation is that it feels like the first time a fanbase as volatile as that of the Jays is actually united in near-unanimous agreement that it would be a bad trade. Between the advanced stat guys, the casual guys, and the die-hards, it seems everyone equally hates the rumors of who they could give up. https://twitter.com/search?q=%40EdwardSRogers&src=typd
  17. Why Blue Jays should pass on Dan Duquette: Griffin http://i.gyazo.com/2b9c39b45b47b7f8fbb447191b0036cb.png These ain't loyal.
  18. lol, nearly every evaluator that observed the AFL said Pompey was one of the most impressive prospects in the league. Jim Callis: "Pompey has continued to stand out with the Solar Sox, batting .283/.358/.417 with six extra-base hits and eight steals in 15 games through Wednesday. He's the most talented speedster and best all-around player in the Fall League." http://m.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article/100702060/pipeline-perspectives-blue-jays-dalton-pompey-best-speedster-in-arizona-fall-league
  19. A) "The dynamic duo" implying Pelley and Rogers are working together on this. Pelley isn't the guy at Rogers' side in this whole clusterf***, Roger Rai is. Pelley and Beeston have a great relationship and Pelley has been around and close to the Jays long enough to not walk around like a moron with his head cut off. They haven't contacted anyone without consent, it's Angelos being the stupid f***ing prick that he is, leaking this story as much as he can to get the most leverage out of the situation. Moron doesn't realize how much it's backfired and made the O's look like a trash organization. Nobody wanted to work for the O's back when you were forced to hire Duq off the scrap pile, and even fewer people will want to work for them now. There's a reason for that. O's fans are too blind to the fact that everyone other than yourselves hates your organization, your ownership and much of your front office. It's an impossible situation for any decent, self-respecting executive to try and thrive in, without getting fed up and eventually wanting out, like what Duquette is feeling now. There's a reason your FO was rejected by LaCava, Dipoto and many others in your last GM search.
  20. I love you Ang.
  21. The biggest form of compensation for a management employee ever is probably Mike Aviles for John Farrell, and that was with David Carpenter going back. Yes, that was in the division, and above that, it was a lateral move. The old fossils in baseball actually even believe managers are worth a whole s*** ton more than they actually are. So there, that's your precedence. Mike Aviles should be, and probably is the ceiling of what you can get. Duquette isn't even a lateral move like Farrell was, no, actually he's getting a major promotion, so theoretically the O's should get even less than that.
  22. An O's fan posting a Rosenthal tweet. Bottom-feeding at this point. If Cubs thought Theo was a difference maker, why didn't they trade a top prospect for him? Oh right, because that would be dumb, and only Orioles fans are dumb enough to believe that it wouldn't be dumb.
  23. I still remember when Molina and Hutch both exploded out of nowhere and started shooting up the charts and through the minors. Where everyone was pre-occupied by the "Lansing Three", they forced people to notice them. It's crazy how different their trajectories have been since then.
  24. *Roger Rai, lol f***tard. If you want to be effective, you first have to get your s*** together, trolls. To be fair, this happens. A-Rod's first contract did just that, and so did Stanton's new extension. No.
  25. Hey BBBB, you should make some trade proposals around what you think the Jays should give up for Dan Duquette. For the first time, I think many of us would welcome it. There's no such thing as summer in Toronto.
