  1. I can't believe people are raging about Tepera vs Delabar. It sometimes surprises me that some of you haven't already died of high blood pressure. Both of these guys have sucked this year. They're both replacement-level arms. Since June, Tepera has been less terrible than Delabar, and while it might be a flawed strategy to nitpick sample sizes, it hardly matters when you're talking about a total of 20 innings. Delabar since June: http://i.gyazo.com/be7784675f2786904162e85824699b82.png Tepera since June: http://i.gyazo.com/c75414c9dcbf74b20c7d1e846fbae3c1.png Nobody should care about which of these guys gets sent down. At worst, it's a mediocre decision that will probably not have any real consequences on the season.
  2. "Absolutely atrocious"? When you deal with relievers, you deal in small samples, and Tepera has been far better than Delabar since June.
  3. Gibby's probably looking at Delabar's numbers in July. http://i.gyazo.com/64dd1bc9afa57a1d79f154730ac667e8.png
  4. How quickly things change.
  5. I never said that we do, and I acknowledged that they would cost a lot. The premise of my post was that if you are going to target relief pitching (obviously I don't think that's the Jays primary mission, and I don't think it should be), those are some of the guys I'd go after. They'd cost less than Chapman or Kimbrel, but they're having similarly dominant seasons. And I don't think Lowe or Uehara would cost a ton, but they'd provide some insurance in an incredibly volatile pen. The pen needs some stability.
  6. Thanks, didn't know that this happened. Edited the post to remove Grilli and add FanGraphs links for the rest of the guys.
  7. If you're trading for a relief pitcher, target Lowe from the Mariners, or Uehara from the Red Sox. If you want control and you're willing to give up more for it, I'd call up the Phillies on Giles, the Marlins on Ramos, the Mariners on Carson Smith, the Indians on Allen or McAllister, or the Brewers on Will Smith. Kimbrel (salary) and Chapman (assets) will both cost too much, and while Chapman is still as f***ing legendary as ever, all the other guys I mentioned have been better than Kimbrel this year. There's an ass ton of very good relief arms that are currently pitching for bottom-of-the-barrel teams, it shouldn't be extremely difficult to find a guy or two. Edit: Didn't know Grilli was injured.
  8. Nothing, just ignore him and let cooler heads prevail.

  10. Give North a break, he already suffered enough public humiliation for that one.
  11. lmfao, who the f*** was that banshee? That wasn't Donaldson was it?
  12. "That's baseball bro". I'm fairly certain that picture is from this past Oakland series, when Travis was trolling the opposing pitcher and catcher by walking halfway up the third base line because Lawrie was playing so far off the bag. They stared him down because they were annoyed and that was his reaction.

  14. The projected starters for today's Dodgers vs Mets game were originally expected to be Greinke and Niese. Neither of them will be making their starts due to the fact that both of their wives went into labor.
  15. This thread title is far more appropriate.

  17. Sherman's post on the trade market from earlier today. He says that the sentiment throughout the industry is that the Jays are the next team to move in on a starting pitcher. He also mentions Steve Cishek's availability on the market, and based on his comments, and the Marlins seemingly permanent state of being cheap as f***, Cishek could probably be had for nothing but his salary. http://nypost.com/2015/07/23/how-the-loaded-relief-pitcher-market-is-starting-to-shake-out/

  20. Carlos Correa picked a really good time to emerge as a young star.
