How do they decide how many rounds each draft year has? It seems to fluctuate every year.

You usually walk someone intentionally when there is a big difference between the guy you're facing and the guy after him. If you don't get intentionally walked it means the offense is balanced.

The guy is already 34 and is having a bad year, -0.7 WAR in 26 games, he's hitting wRC+ 85 and his defense is pretty bad right now. Is he really worth it?

It's true but you just never know with prospects, it could go both ways.

Chances are many family members do that for many players. When i was in the army family of half the people would do that and call their commanding officers trying to get them into better positions, that's how the world goes these days.

It is but why do you think it happens this way? An agent gets probably around 10%? If you make 5mil or 6mil it doesn't give him much extra. If it does happen like that, it's probably more about making precedences for the future where they will say, Scherzer got 270M, then of course someone like Price will get 300M. IMO it should be closer to the real estate market where it's mostly about quick turnaround and not waiting months for getting 10k more.

It works for Boras most of the time because his players are usually the top of the league. None is going to overpay like he expects if the player is not elite.

You could get Cueto or Hammels for that money. At least get our pitching in order.

But they showed all the pitches, he said 2-2 when it was 1-2, so unless they didn't show one of the pitches, it was walk on 3 balls.

You do realize that Reyes costs about 40 times more than Goins this season alone? And then you have his remaining contract which is another 1000 times more money than Goins.
