    Vlad against Gilbert this game: 1st inning: 95 mph lineout 4th inning: 108.5 mph lineout, 345 feet 7th inning: 114.3 mph bomb, 459 feet Gilbert has looked unhittable all game. This is why it's so frustrating that he sucks. The tools to hit are there and few have them.

    At what point do you consider optioning him and starting from scratch on his swing? His swing is in complete shambles right now. It's not like his confidence can get any worse.

    Darn, not a bad pitch although he did miss his spot. Can't be too mad there, wasn't even hit hard at all.

    His swing path is broken. He used to hit so many line drives all over the place, now he just rolls it over all the time

    It's not sustainable but glad to see Cavan at least hit a little looping pop up as opposed to just taking a pitch right in the zone for strike 3.

    At the same time, if you think Varsho's bat is bad now, imagine him splitting his time between CF and backup catching. He probably wouldn't hit one line drive in the month of April.

    Apparently according to the rules he’s being called up exactly a day away from not being eligible for the new draft pick compensation. So I guess that’s still on for them, TIL it didn’t have to be from the very first day of the season.
