  1. It's fantastic that baseball managed to snatch up an elite athlete like that over basketball and football. Obviously he's not the only one - hell we even have one of those - but it's always a good sign for the sport.
  2. The Dodgers need to get in on this ASAP. They don't care about money anyway and can trade multiple top 75 prospects without a care in the world.
  3. The second unit is special.
  4. VanVleet is playing like a monster. I rag on the dude a lot but he really does play hard.
  5. Much better performance in the second half of the second quarter. If they don't collapse in the third like usual this game is easily winnable.
  6. Yeah the Raps are playing like garbage, Memphis is cutting us open with their excellent ball movement.
  7. OG is such a fun player to watch, and he's only going to get better. Also pretty explosive for a guy who was only supposed to just now be getting back from injury.
  8. One of those guys is possibly the best defender ever, a consistent 3+ win player coming off a 5 win season. The other is also an above average player, who was still an average player in a down season coming off consecutive 3.5+ win seasons. Seems like a silly thing to nitpick over. Among that core is the world's best player, who automatically makes it a good core all by himself and Justin Upton who is pretty damn good himself.
  9. Well they did develop a late first round pick into one of the best players of all time. If I were them I wouldn't let anyone forget about that.
  10. lol @ the Phillies fans in the comments begging him to go.
  11. I mean if all it took was for him to be excited about playing with Mike Trout then he's good in my books.
  12. Half of those guys are either injured or will get injured, it doesn't exactly inspire hope.
  13. They'd need to trade one of Upton or Calhoun to fit him though. Also if San Fran's package is any indication the Angels don't have the assets to match, unless they decide to take on the bulk of the contract which would seem fitting with the organization's moto.
  14. Wil Myers is a terrible outfielder. The Padres once had him and Matt Kemp playing alongside each other, it was hilarious.
  15. That's what he gets for spending so much time in the politics threads.
  16. Anyone that claims that Alford can be reasonably expected to be a better defender than Pillar right now is out of their minds, and their opinions going forward should be taken with a big grain of salt. Pretty sure all Eric Longenhagen said was that he expects Alford to be an above-average regular, something which Pillar is currently projected to be for next season.
  17. You mean the guy they traded to the Braves for Mallex Smith?
  18. What the f*** are the Mariners doing? The age-old question.
  19. Meanwhile if you put up that slash-line in Oakland you're pre-Blue Jays Josh Donaldson. Coors is the best.
  20. It's funny, Cleveland's front office is rated as excellent and meanwhile the front office that literally constructed that team is rated average or below. You can see how much influence last season's standings had on the voting results, fans are very biased.
  21. Lol @ the clickbait title and overblown hype. If Ohtani is anything less than Yu Darvish as a pitcher and prime Adam Lind with the bat a lot of people are going to be very disappointed. Give the guy a chance to prove himself before declaring him as the most unique/revolutionary player in history. "Ohtani might be better than we thought" is such a ******** article title considering fangraphs is leading the hype train on him.
  22. He's also likely nowhere near as talented as LeBron James.
  23. Doc Rivers is an idiot if he's asking for that.
  24. I've had this discussion with other people as well, I don't think we would trade OG in a deal for Gasol because the the team is really high on him. With that said, I'm not sure who the alternatives would be if OG wasn't part of the package, and I agree with you that acquiring Jordan is more cost effective.
  25. Marc Gasol is pretty unhappy at Memphis it seems, and the Raps are reportedly in on DeAndre Jordan. One of those two replacing JV would be huge for us.
