  1. I think we should all be aboard the Tim Mayza bandwagon if you're not there already. He looked filthy in his few appearances this past year. 27:4 K/BB ration in 17 innings!!!
  2. I'm the biggest Leone fanboy on this board, but to say he was a very very steady reliever is extremely misleading. He had one excellent year this season, previously he had been below replacement level for two seasons. Sure, you could attribute some of those struggles to injury, but as a pitcher if you've struggled with injury before what's not to say you won't again? He could be just as bad as he was the previous two seasons or just as good as this year, such is the nature with non-elite relievers. We'll probably find another of his ilk this season. When you can trade a non-established guy like him along with a lottery ticket soon-to-be-converted prospect for an average (or better) starting OF with CF experience with control, you don't think too much about it.
  3. I don't visit the baseball subreddits but most of the fans there are really really dumb. King sent me a link to the mlb subreddit the day the Rockies signed Wade Davis and everyone was fawning over the move, quoting "another elite bullpen" lmao. They're terrible.
  4. That is one great interview, amazing job on both sides.
  5. Assets to move: Zach Davies Andrew Heaney Tim Anderson Joe Mauer Mike Montgomery Jason Heyward Curtis Granderson Carter Capps - for those of you living in the past Jurickson Profar - see above Mallex Smith - speed just went for Blake Rutherford, he gets on base more than Billy Hamilton Josh Fields? Delvin Perez Cal Quantrill
  6. Lol reasonable RP f*** off. Pillar is a much better asset than some s***** volatile reliever.
  7. I think you're missing KK's point. It's not whether he has a track record or not, it's the fact that if you're going to roll the dice on a reliever, it's always better to get the high strikeout ones and hope they can figure out where the ball is going as the season goes along. Strikeouts are a big deal in relievers, and Alburquerque gets them in bunches, that's exactly the kind of guy you take a flier on. Franklin Morales was just awful and Gavin Floyd was an oft-injured starter, they're not comparable at all.
  8. Knowing him he's probably eager to participate lol.
  9. Please don't get yourself banned in the middle of the LOD draft.
  10. I disagree on the bullpen. It's not elite but it's not horrible either.
  11. I lol'd
  12. Clearly Boxy does since he seems pretty triggered by me pointing out he made an obvious factual mistake over something so trivial. Man I can see why Grant does this, it takes such little effort to appear to be a glorified douchebag who's always right. Except, you know, the fact that he usually isn't.
  13. You could have said "the Giants' best pitcher", "one of their best players", etc. Making a factually incorrect statement brings down your post's intention and impact. And yes, Posey is undoubtedly the Giants' best player. Fite me
  14. Gross, a soccer post from not even one of the more recognized leagues. Mods
  15. He's reasonably projected to end up a top 10 catcher all-time by the time his career is over. Bumgarner is a fantastic pitcher, his douchey antics aside he's a fun guy to watch pitch, but he's just not on Posey's level of excellence.
  16. Without including framing - at which Posey is like best in the league category, to the benefit of Bumgarner - the latter has only out-WAR'd the former twice: once in 2011 when Posey was out for the year and once in 2016. Posey also projects for over a win better, and again this is without factoring in framing. It's pretty clear to me that Posey is the superior player, and always has been. That's right, I put my Grant boots on for this one.
  17. In this scenario Martin is Barnes right? Elite framer who can play second and third base in a pinch!
  18. I was so confused reading this because I couldn't fathom why you would have such hatred for Buster Posey, who is undoubtedly the Giants' best player. Yeah MadBum is a dick.
  19. What are the Pirates doing?
  20. The Giants are quietly having a great offseason. Buying low on Longo and Cutch is awesome.
  21. Paul DeJong is a pretty handsome fella, TIL. Don't judge him by his derpy team photos though.
  22. LOL, definitely can't blame him.
  23. That was a terrible possession.
  24. Nothing you can do against that. Demar misses a shot that he can make and Durant is Durant.
