  1. If anyone's hurting for a catcher, Yasmani Grandal is very much available. Franklin Barreto, Luis Ortiz could be added, or be moved independently. Also looking to move some of my prospects outside of the elite range.
  2. Nice deal dudes, I think I like Boxy's side more because there's a chance one of the flyball dudes is legit and Cotton/Folty isn't total garbage. Boxy, would you consider moving one of LoMo and Alonso now that you've acquired them?
  3. Ugh I can't stress enough how much it sucks that I have such little wiggle room for adding intriguing players given the state of my team. Interested in Alonso, LoMo, Calhoun and Delmonico.
  4. Derozan drops a career and franchise best 52 points on what was an amazing game from him offensively and defensively. Also a very exciting game against the Bucks.
  5. He's pretty fat so probably not.
  6. Yeah because they're really scuffling for a 3B right now.
  7. Absolutely repulsive deal for the drunks. This is highway robbery for you.
  8. Meanwhile the Cubs will be paying Brandon Morrow 2/21, and he's probably way better than Wade Davis is at this point.
  9. I hadn't even considered the qualifying offer that Davis had attached to him. Makes the deal even more egregious.
  10. All of the players you just mentioned are replacement level and 4 of them were significantly below replacement last season. That's not how you upgrade a glaring hole in the team.
  11. This exactly. At the price they paid for their relievers they could have acquired the best 1B option available AND Lorenzo Cain to cover their biggest holes, those are significant upgrades, signing a bunch of relievers, none of whom are necessarily elite, is not.
  12. When you can give Aroldis Chapman money to a guy who's half as good and entering the decline phase of his career with known arm problems you do that and ask questions later. This also seems to be the Rockies' motto for every free agent signing of theirs.
  13. He did just make 158 starts at SS last year lol.
  14. You're correct about the long 2's thing. Statistically, in his career he's taken about 31% of his shots from 16+ feet to below the 3 point line, this season that's down to 18.5% - he's also been better at making them, fwiw. He's turned a lot of those into 10-16 foot jumpers, which he's making 50% of the time. Every single spot on the court he's making shots at a higher rate than his career, and for some of them they're easily new bests.
  15. Both Derozan and the Raptors are playing at a level that we have not seen before. Could they regress? Sure, but right now this kind of performance is unparalleled in their respective histories. Demar is more efficient than ever, he's not shy about the occasional three, and he's a very willing passer. The team on the other hand, like NJH points out, has talent all over. The second unit might have the best defense in the NBA, and they absolutely ADORE ball movement, even if for the most part they're not offensively polished enough to make shots. Obviously this means s*** if we get to the playoffs and we get demolished by LeBron and co. again, but at the very least this looks like a noticeably better team, hopefully they won't disappoint. Basketball in Toronto is really fun at the moment.
  16. No kidding, completely different team after halfway through the third. The defense was outstanding, and multiple stops eventually lead to offense. Demar was great, career high 45 going 6/9 from 3.
  17. Who the f*** suggested that Addison Russell will have to move from SS? Wasn't that all that he had as a prospect?
  18. He'll also be converted to starter. This could be a good thing, or it could not.
  19. Vlad/Bichette is the best core since Strasburg/Harper. Just kidding, Bo isn't a pitcher prone to TJS. They're better.
  20. Nelson Cruz is the Adrian Beltre of designated hitters.
  21. I could definitely see the Dodgers taking the L and cutting him, but I think some team will take a chance on him as a pinch hitter or occassional DH, just dear god no one put him in the outfield ever again. He's done as a FT player but I don't think he's out of baseball completely.
  22. You may have been a tad overzealous with the copy/paste lol.
  23. Let's be realistic now... It's Miguel Cabrera. It's always been Miguel Cabrera.
  24. Huh, I wonder why you'd be wanting to trade Rosenthal after such a good season.
