  1. I'd also prefer a proven elite player who happens to be insufferable over someone not as good who may or may not be as insufferable. That's the point I'm trying to make here. Obviously it's up to you if you don't like him and would prefer to see him in another team, but there's no denying that he's excellent and were we to shop him, the Blue Jays would be expecting a big return. Don't undermine the man's talent level and value around the league just because he acts like a whiny kid on Twitter.
  2. Only the one but I specifically went and targeted him. He's gonna be the next Leone.
  3. Breslow is terrible though. I could see Loup making it but I'd really hope they let Mayza have his chance at the big league level. He's not just a LOOGY, his stuff is legit against anyone.
  4. Um, Stroman is pretty elite. Come on guys, don't let hatred over his childish antics point away from the fact that Stroman is an excellent pitcher under cheap team control. Teams would absolutely pay a premium to acquire his services. I'd much rather keep him anyways, part of what makes him so good on the mound is his attitude. If acting like the world is against him at all moments helps the Blue Jays out, then I'll always be a Stroman fan regardless of his off-the-field comments.
  5. I like this a lot. Garcia is an injury prone pitcher and is usually quite solid when healthy, if he's pitching 170-180+ innings for us then that must mean he's doing a pretty good job so he's making up for the added $500k incentives.
  6. SSS and his xFIP was good, plus in the AL East those ERA and FIP totals were only a bit below average.
  7. The FO's willingness to address depth is just the best.
  8. Damn, nice signing.
  9. Tim Mayza is definitely making the team out of ST. That guy is going to be elite.
  10. So this guy in his first article basically just said that an extra $50M to sign Yu Darvish than what he got should have been a no-brainer for all teams. Because an extra $50M has definitely never crippled any team financially, in the recent and foreseeable future, and the fans were always better for it. Oh, hey Detroit Tigers, how're you guys doing?
  11. Did they not rank Martin as a top 10 catcher? Because they should.
  12. Man what the f*** got into Sammy Sosa?
  13. Yeah but if Darvish craps out in the next two years as a result of lingering injuries then that's not getting covered by insurance and the Cubs are stuck with him. The opt-out is entirely in the benefit of the player, the team just kind hopes for the best.
  14. It's interesting that you guys are getting the 502 error. Now the board is slow as hell sometimes for me but it usually loads eventually, or after I refresh it for a second time. What browsers are you guys using? I use Firefox on desktop and Chrome on mobile and neither give me problems.
  15. The last three games would indicate otherwise. The bench beat the Grizzlies, not the starters.
  16. Our bench is playing more than the starters lately lol. And honestly they're doing a better job.
  17. I don't understand what the top tweet has to do with anything lol.
  18. It's not really passing itself off to be a legitimate top 100 list though. It's a list of "here are the guys who did statistically well at a significant level or age and project the best by my model", I think that's fun and he's not being condescending about it. Don't see any reason to bash it unless you have actual quips and improvement suggestions with his model.
  19. Altuve is 27 and he's only gotten better lol. To say that his best years are behind him is odd. Also Goldy is not losing much production any time soon. Look at Joey Votto, god among men.
  20. Judge should be nowhere near Stanton in value imo. You should probably be willing to move Vlad for Giancarlo.
  21. That is one big boy.
  22. Wow, these G-league guys sure make a lot of money. I imagine it's because both of them were first round picks?
  23. ... from being two years away
  24. I don't know who this is but he can't possibly be as big a bust.
