It's one thing if the team isn't in contention or on the outside looking in (ie Rays) but closest the team has been in years and it's almost like they're rolling over or thinking they're good enough. Well, other teams who will be heading to the post season made moves. You can't get everything you want, but it seems like they don't seem to understand that. For all we know maybe AA is still trying to make a move but the asking price is too high. I don't want to burn what's left of the prospects for a rental or someone who might not be as good, but if you can grab a guy that might make a bit of difference you have to do it at this point. Still a chance to do it in August when maybe some of those teams who are on the cusp slip out of contention or realize they're finished but I don't think many fans would be too upset to see the Jays pay a higher price than they normally would if it means getting the division crown, possibly making it to the WS, and even a shot at winning it all. At the same point I don't want to see Sanchez, Pompey and such traded for a rental. It's difficult thing to do but it seems like here is out shot 3 game lead in the WC, 2.5 games out of first let's lock this down and add since other teams are and have. AA pulled off some trades before that no one expected so why not now even if it's a player no one was thinking about? Easier said than done but it would be nice for them to say here's something else let's take it. August might happen but at the same point it might be too late. A trade for the sake of making one is worthless but grab someone who might help would be nice providing it's not a steep price. We have to look down the road a couple years too. I think they're relying too much on waiting for Morrow to come back and somehow make a positive impact.
