Always had good stuff, couldn't seem to put it together for a long stretch. He also wasn't really used well when here. Long man, then sparsely used, then multiple days, then sent down. -
I still have no idea why they called him up to not use him then DFA only to lose him on waivers. It looked like he might have figured it out in the minors. Maybe.

If we're lucky, an energized team that comes out swinging, scoring runs, pitching well, and makes up for this game.

I can already hear the excuses being made and then why they won't spend money this upcoming off season to try and put the Jays back in contention. Unless AA really lucks out and gets something of value that helps push this team into the playoffs this year in the up coming weeks it seems like they'll continue to choke when they need to play hard. They might fire Gibbons as a token fire or no one and blame excuses, injuries, everyone else got better but us blah blah the same nothing.

It's a chance to either come closer to first or at least make the O's lives miserable and they're not even phoning it in. It's like they went down, scored, the O's scored some more, they quit.

This move might be cited as the very definition of "Desperation Move" or "Transaction of Desperation." Coming up losing 3/4 to a team like the Astros where offense fell asleep, particularly against lefties, and a few defensive mishaps on the left side, back comes Lawrie. Hopefully he'll only need a game or two to get his timing back, and won't be a horrible spot of offense but they're heading into a series against a first place team, while being 3.5 games back after that laugher of a series, I guess they're doing everything to try and win a few games. -

Gotchya. I hope he can get that swing back. Maybe bring him back on a one year deal, maybe with an option and see if he can do something. I don't like the idea of both him and Melky going to FA and leaving us screwed.
