  1. Mad dash moves at the last minute.
  2. Even though we all kind of knew nothing was going to happen, it's probably a bit more disappointing this year since we're a head in the wild card and could take the division yet it doesn't seem like they want to get better and are content with what they have while other teams, who are good, get a bit better. Easier said than done on the trade front, especially since giving up some of the prospects we have left wouldn't make sense in some deals ie a rental who we won't resign but middle of a pennant race, first chance in 21 years to make the playoffs and they seem to think 'getting back to full strength' is like a trade when at full strength it wasn't enough. Not a bad team but unlike the season, from here on out every game counts and especially in the play offs there's no such thing as we've had a bad series we'll get them next time.
  3. That was out of the blue.
  4. They're delusional on thinking next year they can compete? Perhaps they are asking way too much for a return while expecting someone to pick up most, if not all, the money on some of those contracts. Who knows? You'd think they'd take whatever they can get including some salary relief if they sell someone off.
  5. Imagine how pissed he'll be if the Jays fail to make the playoffs.
  6. Ah, OK. Kind of like Mark Teahen being taken on. Duh. My head is in the clouds today
  7. AA: "You wouldn't sign with us last year for our terms? Well, I'll give up prospects AND take on a larger contract to get you! MWHAHAHA!"
  8. Why would they take Romero and his salary especially since he's out for the year?
  9. Despairing level: Epic
  10. And they shipped him out to the Os to play spoiler against us as pay back haha
  11. I wouldn't mind him coming to the Jays providing it's a low cost if he's going to walk to FA unless an extension is worked out.
  12. They didn't want to give us an impact player for a PTBNL or for scrap pieces. They demanded the same kind of return that I gave Houston in the JA Happ trade, Cleveland and Miami. Plus we don't have the ability to take on money. Why they didn't want Santos I don't know.
  13. That might be worse than the Napoli trade.
  14. It makes the tears run down my face But hey it's not like having Aviles at 2B and a cheaper Yan catching would be better than what we have now. Excuse me, I have to go cry
  15. And when you see how well Yan Gomes is doing especially defensively it makes me really hate him
  16. I'd probably wet myself if he wound up in Toronto but I have the feeling if he did, it would cost the team their future and he'd blow out his elbow in his first start lol Maybe they'd take Happ in the deal lol
  17. I don't foresee those old guys retiring and letting them off the hook for some of the money like Chavez did.
  18. With the tight race, the money involved and cost of players I really don't foresee anything major myself. Maybe a player or two but nothing serious. I figured the BoSox might sell off some pieces since they're done this year.
  19. Now watch him pitch perfectly against us
  20. That's how mine usually went.
  21. Last two hours prior to the deadline is getting good. It's like being a kid on Christmas morn'
  22. I like that idea a bit better. The team is riding high right now, are heading into a series against a team 20 games under .500, a good chance to take some more games there. If the big boys come back and are healthy and produce, then it's one less thing to worry about. The price right now especially as we head about 2hrs from the deadline will drive some prices up. a lot can happen in August especially with some of the games to be played against the Os. Other teams might fall out of contention and willing to sell off a player so might be a better time to pick up a piece after evaluating where the team is at full strength. I'd like to see maybe a solid RP to help out, maybe if a bench bat was available, someone who could make solid contact or hit for some power for late in the games. Goins is back showing off the leather and his bat isn't the liability that it used to be so that has helped. I'm a bit worried about the pitching mostly with Hutch and Stroman if they might have inning limits or tire since they haven't had the full MLB seasons yet. Happ always scares me that he might implode in a start. Unless AA has a can't miss deal in the next couple of hours August might be when, or if, something happens. The team is confident now which helps too. I'm sure teams are asking about some of the better prospects left and the Jays have to thinkk about the next few years as well. Eh I rambled a bit again.
  23. s***, I can't imagine the price someone will pay for Price.
  24. I'm hoping something does happen if not today sometime in the next few in an August deal if possible. The team roster isn't horrible, but there is a piece or two needed even with the regulars back. But if it means dealing players that we can't afford to then no sense in doing it.
