    I thought I heard something throughout the year that he was unwilling to change his approach at the plate so I really don't think that it has too much to do with the coaching staff.

    To be fair though he is not wrong. when there is a runner on 2nd and 2 out you should not be swinging for the fences. You should be smart and try to just put the ball in play. Also I have heard that in batting practice Ichiro has very good power but he is paid to get on base and beat out grounders.

    As I have said multiple times it would be great to trade JB while he still as good value and a very good contract, however if AA does not make playoffs this season he is likely going to get canned and so I can't see him trading him off. It is likely going to be another all or nothing year for us.

    Oh My. The sad thing is they are not even going to make the playoffs this year. Just makes even less sense to hand out a contract like that. I guess its a bonus not to see him with the Yanks.

    If they lost him from my understanding he would have just gone back to Japan. I don't think he had any intention what so ever to sign with any other club from what has been said.

    A.A is basically forced to make this a winning team now. If he starts back pedaling from what he did last year he won't be around. His only chance to stick around is to get to the playoffs this season.

    Just when it seems that teams have figured out not to hand out long long deals a dumbass comes out of the woodworks with his dick out. I just don't see the benefit of signing anyone to that kind of a deal.

    I can maybe see late in the draft if catching depth on a guys team is weak. Also if he gets picked up by the Rockies he probably would not be the worst thing to have on your bench.

    If it is true that Walker is in play this would not even get you through the door. Sounds like the M's are going to go all out this season with Price and Cano. Sadly enough this still won't get them into contention.

    But Aaron Hill had plate discipline and did not strike out every other at bat. He also had past history of success at the ML level unlike JPA. Also he would take instruction as per JPA he thinks is approach is not worth changing. There is not a lot of similarities between the two.

    That's a huge game changer right there. I see a lot of teams willing to pony up 20mil. Then what happens does the team just choose which bid they want to accept??

    Hard to say if they will. They seem very admit that they are going to get under the luxury tax mark and with them still needing Pitching and with the Jacoby deal I don't see them making a huge push unless they are just full of s***.

    It has been reported by Morosi that the Mariners have already topped the Yanks bid for Cano. Don't know how reliable that is.
