  1. True but Kris Bryant hasn't reached his true potential yet either!
  2. I would make that trade right now! A possible franchise pitcher for a possible franchise positional player is a no brainer!
  3. Which begs the question is "how does his 18 month daughter know what these lyrics mean for him to be upset about??"
  4. He was soooooo appalled that he had to take to twitter to the public so he can a pat on the back. While if he was so concerned he should have contacted the BJ's(pun intended) and complained through the proper channels!......oh wait, no publicity in doing that!
  5. There are two types of pitchers....those who had TJ(s) and those that will have TJ!
  6. Rotate Pillar through the outfield. It would give MS time off the turfn Bautista could DH (or 1st if OK with him) and Pompey a break. Pillar as of now has been the top OF.
  7. What isn't a long drive from Saskatchewan?
  8. Never really thought about this before but I guess pitchers do get credited with registering an out. Wonder if Elias has any stat for a pitcher getting the most 'outs' a year via a CS? Imagine collecting a huge bonus for a low ERA by .001 due to a few freebie outs like this!
  9. I've heard that also, BUT why not the off day. Thursday so they could play that day in case of rain. Having Tuesday off does no good if it rains Tuesday or Wednesday! (not sure if anyone else replied back)
  10. Ohhhh...for a second I thought you said Pascual Perez!!
  11. Would have caught more people if the "roof was to remain open for all games except for rain days!"
  12. Technically you may be correct that he was lefthanded. Since in both cases of Drabeks TJ surgery the doctors transplanted the ulnar collateral ligament from Drabkes leftside of his body!
  13. Well...if he stood a few inches to the left on the rubber he wouldnt have given up the 2 BB's.....maybe induced a cpl more swinging strikes . Afterall a 8 pitch strikeout is so much better than 3 pitch ground ball!
  14. Sounds ridiculous to say this but without Stromans injury Castor and Osuna may have lingered in the minors (still might) but giving them MLB experience this yr coupled with Stromans return next season gives AA a boatload of opportunities next offseason to make other upgrades with some sort of guarantee what the jays have going forward. Plus this season it's a chain-reaction throughout the system for young kids moving up. A lot of times, all what's missing for a prospect is a decent opportunity to exceed/succeed!
  15. and here's hoping the batters see the same as you when it's coming in at mid-90's!
  16. and as Goins was rounding first on his HR trot Izturis's groin felt a whole lot better and he wanted back into the game! I expect by seasons end both Goins and Travis will be the second basemen!
  17. and in totally unrelated news late last night in a dark corner of a parking lot AA was seen slipping Dr Steve Mirabello a stuffed envelope.
  18. Why?.....oh because Kevin Millar and Omar Visquel aren't available!!
  19. Hopefully this kid turns out a wee bit better than the last major Blue Jay signing from Belgium......................Interbrew!
  20. Does this deal make it tougher for Deck McGuire to make a huge push for a starters job with A's?
  21. The one the stood out for me was by Ellis Valentine against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Frank Tavaras (one of the fastest guys in baseball) was on first and the batter hit a liner into the rf corner. Valentine fielded the ball, spun and threw a strike on the fly to the 3rd base and nailed Taveras! IMHO Valentine had the best arm I've ever seen, quick release and always accurate!
  22. Well all things considered, the Dickey commercial is no where as annoying as the political commercials knowing the leaders are flat out lying to us!
  23. Maybe all pitchers should start going the fastball windmill route! Wondering if by lowering the mound back after the '68 season has anything to do with all these injuries? and yes, I know that TJ surgery didnt happen for about 4+/- yrs after 68 but geesch there seems so many now!
  24. Agree that McCown has zero issues with job security but his "curmudgeonous" is an arranged agreement with him and Rogers. Rogers realize that having an on-air personality that allows slamming of the Mother Corp and being the Howard Stern of sports-talk is great for business.....but having every on air personality doing the same isn't. They also have a directive for other on-air personalities to praise Bob-Cat and quake in his footsteps and build-up the McCown brand which in-turn builds up the Rogers brand! It's just his schlitck......not more nothing else!
