  1. Actually the "man in white" was pilotting the Stealth Bomber today during the airshow and stealing signs. You did see the Stealth Bomber?...oops...forget it was Stealth!
  2. Which means us fans will be bent over with both of their hands on our shoulders!
  3. Two precious items for most people are time and money. Following a mediocre team without much chance of winning but a likelyhood of suckage isn't conducive to convince them to go to a game. For me living in Kitchener and having to get up for work at 5:45am for work makes me stay home and watch on TV. But having really really good teams makes me want to go and watch a game in person.
  4. and hopefully AA will keep note of this in the future!
  5. Beeston will probably ask to hang around for $200,000/month to show Shapiro the ropes. Shapiro hopefully will politely decline. Let Shapiro be Shapiro!
  6. Insert Stroman in Buehrles spot without any drop off, as for Price....now that's really tough! But the teams depth at pitching is really really thin at the ML level and the high minors so IMHo some FA signings will need to be made. I suspect with the teams defence (and offence) that attracting free agents could be easier than years past.
  7. Wonder with the close-by out of town series if some travel agencies will be organizing bus trips to them....New York and Baltimore?
  8. Maybe people who actually watch Carter play and was as frustrated as I was knew they had to be a better to evaluate a hitter so they invented Sabermetrics!
  9. and if it wasn't for the homer Carter would be remembered as another "good" hitter. Even at that "good" could be debatable.
  10. Dunno why posters need to make insulting remarks! Good grief!
  11. So the Jays will make up a super duper phoney title and slap it on Shapiro so it appears as a promotion.
  12. Since stepping down as CFL Commissioner what is Mark Cohon doing now a days? Isn't Tim Leuwike(sp?) looking for a job?
  13. Re: Buehrle, I suspect with his varies speeds he throws his pitches that the short time period between each pitch makes the change of speeds more effective.
  14. Hutch could actually stay in his Toronto condo and commute to Buffalo if he wanted to. (if the Bisons are playing at home) I suspect Hutch doesn't like it but will suck it up and be a good soldier. Not sure how his contract is but I would imagine he'll maintain his major league salary also during his reassignment.
  15. Reyes has cleared waivers sooooo lets see where he ends up now!
  16. if that was the case it would be a moot point because if CC had Goins bat then he would be serving up cones at a Dairy Queen. We wouldn't have heard of Colabello!
  17. Hopefully the beancounters at Rogers is taking note at the amount of $$$$$ they can make when the team is in a playoff race. 300,000 tickets sold the last few days x average ticket of $35(?) = $10,500,000 + whatever swag the fans will buy and the cut from concessions! Hopefully the players won't have to sacrifice any salary to allow AA to sign a pitcher (Ervin Santana scenario)
  18. Question....what would happen if you deleted the 2 winning streaks and the two longest losing streaks?? Then do this for the Yankees and other teams. ^Not sure what the results would be but it would be interesting to see the results.
  19. Agreed....move Jose to 3rd and trade whoever our 3rd baser is! (can't recall who we have at 3rd!!...????)
  20. Farrell in his first season in Boston reminds me of a turd that floats for a lil' while but eventually all turds sinks to the bottom! Enjoying the bottom John?
  21. Sooo what is it.....buying championships or trying to trade for them with rediculous trades? Buying is done through free-agency during the offseason. Trading is done by hard work by hiring scouts and scouring the world for talent. Then drafting them and developing them for a few years. Once they have developed to a desirable commodity they are then an asset in which you can barter with other teams. AA has done a great job with scouting and developing the raw talent and using these players to build the team not buy the team! I and totally understand your frustration with this being a Baltimore fan when even when after AA traded away these higher echelon prospects the Jays minor leagues is still probably better stocked than the Orioles systems. Oh well...time to put on your drool bib!
  22. This all begs the question.....Isn't people wanting to join Oriole Hangout similar to people breaking into a mental health sanitarium?
