  1. It's unfortunate that our best young position player will never stay healthy. Basically starting from scratch apart from pitching. If we could get rid of Buehrle's salary and just replace that salary with offensive players it would help.
  2. What are you even thinking? If you were a GM would you have traded a top prospect for Buehrle midseason? NO. Neither would anyone else. There are legitimate questions about our front offices performance over the last year and half. But my gawd it is no wonder some of you will never be satisfied if you think GMs are going to give a top prospect for Buehrle.
  3. The disappointment of clicking the prospects thread because their are new posts, only to find it is people talking about Pillar.
  4. Good post. Rasmus is very NOT the type of hitter that should hit for a high BABIP. This is standard for him and the people touting him up in the offseason had the blinders on. Guy should have been traded last offseason.
  5. Colby is dumb and the way he holds his arms is even dumber. He looks ridiculous.
  6. Yeah. I want to watch it because of childhood memories but at the same time dont want to support Bay at all. Didnt they realize with Batman and Marvel how much money they can make when they make these types of movies good. Sure they make money even if they arent but if it was good it would make sooo much more.
  7. Remember when Gose hit 16 HR in AA while still maintaining reasonable (not good but reasonable) k/bb stats. Hope he learns someday that there are some pitches worth taking a good swing at. No reason he cant hit 10+ a year without ruining his newly found decent approach.
  8. Nobody knows what will happen at the deadline. This was expected is your opinion. Also why can people not be disappointed just becauae they expect something.
  9. Trade deadline is always the most depressing time of the year. Should have gotten something for Rasmus last trade deadline. Ugh.
  10. And waking up to nothing.
  11. I know the idea of making a trade where we are not getting the best value is wildly against what a lot of people believe in, but with the state of our team, including how AAhas shown his biggest strength is building a farm system, i think trying to get Price is the way to go.
  12. I like your idea. Just posted that i wonder why teams dont do that more. However i think the third piece would need to be a bit better than Nolin to get the deal done. I doubt TB loves Sanchez although i do think they are the type of team that would value pompey highly
  13. Why not? I also dont get in these situations why a team doesnt trade for price now, then trade him again in the offeseason. Probably woud be able to get about 2/3 of your value back for a shot at the playoffs. realistically though this tean will look a lot different after 2015. Giving up prospects, which chances are most will bust, for a couple years of price would be really helpful.
  14. What's worse than people bitchin about the one thread? People writing huge posts bitchin about the people bitching about the one thread.
  15. Guys who hit for power but have low average and OBP are not that uncommon. If he was just some prospect who came up regularly through the system and put up the same type of numbers he wouldnt have so much hype around him.
  16. Like this move by the As. They can survive without Cespedes and want to finally win that world series.
  17. Not if we make the playoffs twice. By the end of the next two years with reyes, bautista and Ee age and melky gone it will be a different ball team. Price would be worth it.
  18. Id be going for Price. Giving up three good prospects would hurt but remember if we arent in it next trade deadline we can get at least one back in a trade and if he keeps us in the hunt then walks we get a 1st round pick. Id go for it since I think in two years we will have a few more pitchers ready to from the minors.
  19. Lawrie's defense is way more valuable at 3B. This is obvious watching the game and reinforced by stats. There is zero reason for Lawrie to play 2B now that are 2Bare playing well.
  20. Eww. There are controllable players out there to trade for. Give up more and get one of them if we are trading Norris. If yoi trade for someone that has a couple years then we'll have new guys to take over by the time they leave.
  21. Prospects are definitely a bit overrated these days bit I dont necessarily agree with how they made their point. If one prospect becomes a star then it really makes the deal worth it for the team trading the mlb plaher. But it definitely doesnt always work out that way. I would love to see the Jays able to trade for a controllable, elite player. AA has shown a great ability to build up a farm system again quickly.
  22. Did Rios get pulled or injured?
  23. I like the Dickey deal in this thread. They get a 4th starter for next year which is pretty useful. We get an upgrade for this season. Makes us stronger this year and makes them stronger next year. Im probably a bit biased since Dickey annoys me though.
