  1. So Morrow if for sure starting the home opener?
  2. Drabek and Nolin have looked terrible. Jenkins looks like a guy who could at least chew some innings. I'm surprised Stroman is in still in the hunt. The Jays must really like the idea of him starting the home opener.
  3. Lol at the weird angle of that picture. Dude, you need to work your pitching arm not your catching arm.
  4. You missed the double negative. "NEVER NOT going to make the team." i.e. "He was going to make the team."
  5. Imagine if they gave Romero his job back and not Morrow based only on spring training. Can you say s*** show?
  6. The most painful part of that show was Howarth and Blair pumping Sierra's tires. Blair: "The two weeks Sierra had last year are the kind that you can build a career on". On the one hand that's one of the dumbest SSS conclusions I've ever seen but on the other hand, he's kind of right. Sierra IS building a Major League career (probably a short one) on those two weeks.
  7. Wow, he's consistent. Grant, on the other hand, will draft some of the same Red Sox players he bashes or ignore players he's hyped up which is how you can know what he truly thinks.
  8. He gave up a ton of homeruns which is one of the last things to stabilize. It was really ridiculous how much crap he took from the fans. AdamGreenwood, of all people, was one of his rare defenders.
  9. He probably just has a radio. If not, there's a Rogers Radio app for mobile devices.
  10. Dan Johnson's been around forever mostly with the A's and Rays. He's the kind of ++ white guy that broadcasters love but he's nothing special. Just a depth guy.
  11. Unbelievable. What's the point in putting Morrown on a short leash when you don't have anyone who can replace him? Does this mean AA is on the cusp of massively overpaying for this year's R.A. Dickey?
  12. What killed him was Joe Maddon. Once the cat was out of the bag on how to beat him, there was no turning back. That he spiraled into loss of confidence and command was the consequence not the cause. If he can get his confident and command back he can bo back to being a bad pitcher. He'll never be good, he never truly was.
  13. That's pretty predatory, just saying.
  14. Is it just me or is there some kind of weird perspective warp in that photo.
  15. FFS. Somebody wake up a mod.
  16. Romero was never good. His success came from his reverse platoon split. As soon as teams stopped playing to his strength he was done as an above average MLB pitcher. Not horrible is his upside now. I'll take it.
  17. I know you're being sarcastic but Mmmbop is a pretty well crafted pop song. I really love the counter-melody.
  18. If Ervin were still available and you could do something like flip Weeks for Romero and sign Santana that would be cool but since AA's been left holding his dick on Santana, I'd rather just spend the Ervin money on Drew. Maybe you could give Reyes the DH starts against lefties so that Drew can get some shortstop starts (until one or the other gets injured).
  19. Lott is the best. Really throwing it down.
  20. I seem to recall Boras saying that Drew was willing to move to 2B IF it's a long term deal. He won't necessarily convert if he's only on a one year deal (which makes sense, he's way more valuable as a shortstop and he doesn't want to hit the 2015 market not having played there in over a year). So the Jays could sign him to play 2B or they could sign him for one year but they can't do both.
  21. No it's a fan base that thinks that the whole reason Burnett wouldn't sign here is because of the fans is idiotic. There are way way better reasons for Burnett s to not want to sign with Toronto.
  22. Nope. He actually had an above average groundball to fly ball rate last year. It wasn't just Kaufman supressing homeruns. He actually gave up way fewer fly balls than anyone would have projected for him. I don't know if that's sustainable or not but he definitely had a legitimately good season. It wasn't all Kaufman by any stretch.
  23. We certainly could. It's too bad he can't play 3B or hit or really do anything useful on a baseball field. At least Gose should be able to cut it as a defensive replacement.
