  1. Tyrone Taylor is listed twice on North's farm.
  2. Sorry for the condescending reply.
  3. That thought occured to me. If that's the case well I'll tip my hat and say mission accomplished.
  4. Jays can do better.
  5. Highly debattable actually. Firstly, as we all know it would be foolish to infer too much from such a small sample but secondly even in that small sample there are red flags. The alarmingly low swinging strike percentage has been brought up several times ITT. As a long time reader, you must be aware of it by now.
  6. Really hard to know what to expect. He was legitimately dreadful in 2013, looked like he was back to form in 2014 but then got seriously injured before the sample size really meant anything (only 11 games). If he's healthy and back to being a .320 OBP guy, that's not exactly great but I'll take it from a place holder. I'm certainly not going to bank on it but I wouldn't be shocked by it either. This is the last year of his contract and quite possibly his career. Hopefully he still has a little something left.
  7. It was just so annoying and drawn out. Weeks of speculation and it turns out he isn't even leaving Japan. WTF?
  8. In baseball?
  9. FFS. I don't think I've ever been more despaired by such a likely mediocre player. Thank f*** AA put Travis in his back pocket to start the off season.
  10. My ProBoard notifications seem to have been wiped. From what I can tell, this just happened out of the blue for no particular reason. I suspect this may be a league wide thing so I thought I'd give a heads up.
  11. Any explanation for why he was so bad last year? Not trying to be flip by saying that. I think it's a question that has to be addressed if any hope is going to be pinned on this guy. For all I know, there's a sensible explanation but barring one, my default assumption is that he's just not very good.
  12. Griffey is the Mickey Mantle of his generation. Much like with Mantle, people will always wonder what Griffey could have accomplished with better health and unlike Mantle, Griffey isn't known as someone who abused his body.
  13. That's another way of putting it.
  14. He was pretty much handed a job in 2012. He didn't perform well defensively of offensively. He was only 22 at the time but I doubt his skills have improved to the point where he could provide above replacement value at the MLB level.
  15. Happy Birthday Edwin Encarnacion! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OG6kGg8p4K8/UZ69bbYdDII/AAAAAAAAGGs/k072VJGrVMY/s1600/EE-Dinger.gif
  16. They're creating a new Toronto only, all sports HOF. John MacDonald, Tie Domie and Pinball Clemons are the first class of inductees.
  17. Pillar still has options so it's no big deal to hold him back as MiLB depth. The team is putting a lot of faith in Pillar and Pompey by having them occupy two of the four OF jobs. I'd like a veteran in the mix. Even if that veteran doesn't project any better than Pillar, that veteran would probably have a better floor and it just gives the team more options if either of Pillar or Pompey struggle. That being said, there's not much left on the market anymore and Ichiro should just retire.

    a. I'm not raging. b. If you wanted to argue about the thing, you should have just argued about the thing. Saying I "get way too emotional about the dumbest stuff" was a completely unnecesary generalization and yeah that kind of cheap shot does get under my skin not to mention the whole pot calling the kettle black thing.
  19. I wish he still had something to offer but you have to squint pretty hard to try and find it. Some extra OF depth would be nice though but it will probably have to come the MiLB contract route at this point.

Yeah I get that it was tongue and cheek, hence why I called it trolling. Also since you fly off the handle all the time, you might want to refrain from making comments about who is and who isn't senstive. It's pretentious and presumptions at the best of times and it's really rich coming from mister knee jerk reactions.

Really good and interesting article but I hated the references to Drake. I'm sorry but he's just not that important. Going so far as calling the team the Drakes is practically trolling. Would you call the Laker the Jack Nicholson's? Would you call the Nicks, the Spike Lees or call the Nets the Jay-Zs? Drake is a fan boy. A very useful one from a marketive perspective but even when he's on the payroll, he's still basically a high profile fan.
  23. They really shouldn't deal Refsnyder. They are in a much better position if they give themselves the option of sliding Drew to short and starting Refsnyder at 2B should Didi falter. If the thought process behing sigining Drew is to then trade Refsnyder than they'll just be robbing Peter to pay Paul so to speak.
  24. This is an article from July 1 2014. It does a good job of explaining how the July 2 deadline works: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/07/2014-15-international-signing-period-primer.html
