  1. Yeah some people are really intense about this. Watching games because their pitcher is in a matchup and stuff like that. I watch the Jays and that's it and I really don't pay attention to baseball beyond that and I don't pay attention to what's going on in the league beyond my own matchups. Only thing I really get excited about is the MiLB draft. I still can't associate all the teams and managers in this league. I'm even more extreme in fantasy footlball. I didn't turn on a single game this year. I'm pretty convinced that paying attention to the real sport is bordeline irrelevant in fantasy.
  2. Meh. The interfaces tracks the stats for me. I honestly barely have any idea what the standings are at any point of the MLB season much less the statistical leaderboards.
  3. Man this shows how little attention I pay to MLB stats these days. I would have been all over this a decade ago. What about Adam Jones? He seems like the type who would hit a lot of homeruns and steals a lot of bases although I honestly have no idea what his totals are like.
  4. Yeah I've been really feeling Norris lately. I think he'll be practically unobtanaible by this time next year.
  5. Well good thing you're cutting back on the poutine then, lol.
  6. Well I would be but if I'm not mistaken CA's a fisherman so I'm sure he burns a lot of calories during the season. That s*** is hard work.
  7. I have placed Urias on the board on at least three seperate occasions. I'm pretty sure Cat's Ass and NJH were the only ones who ever inquired. CA is pretty good that way. He pretty much always inquires even though 90% of the time nothing happens. That being said, it's never a bad thing to show interest. Sometimes it leads to deals down the line.
  8. I live a very sedentary lifestyle and I just don't have the appetite for it unless I'm really drunk.
  9. Geezus. I love poutine but I eat 3-4 a year tops.
  10. I was going to wax poetic about Santiago but that 343 OBP he put up last year merely looks like a major outlier. He's still a good guy to have though. The best backup MI option if the Jays go with a straight starter/backup arrangement (with presumably Travis or Izturis as the starter) rather than go the platoon route with Kawasaki/Tolleson. The later seems increasingly unlikely given that the team would not doubt hopes that Travis takes over the 2B job at some point anyways and given that the team would probably prefer a guy with good defense and even splits as a backup to Reyes than a defensively limited platoon guy like Kawasaki. Kawa can always provide depth in the minors but this probably spells the end of Tolleson. He doesn't really work outside of the platoon arrangement. I was curious to get a look at Tolleson post eye surgery but you can't hold on to every scrub. At some point you have to make decisions based on who fits your team needs the best not just who has options.
  11. But isn't weed a gateway drug... to junk food.
  12. Well I don't know about that. I think it's pretty hard to be a functioning adult in society and not do drugs. I drink, I take aspirine, I have coffee. I'm not anti drugs by any stretch but I don't want to develop any new habits.
  13. Don't forget that Otis Nixon was once a Blue Jay too.
  14. Kind of looks like he got a face transplant with an old dirty football.
  15. I'm pretty sure I could try it a few times and not get hooked. I don't think I have a predilection to addiction and from what I understand it's hardly the worst thing you could try from that perspective but ultimately meh. I'm way too old to be trying new drugs.
  16. Since I have no interest in developing a coke habit, my logic has always been that the worst thing that could happen is that I would really enjoy it so best not to even bother.
  17. I guess what it comes down to is that I don't care about market value that much. I used think my problem was that I didn't understand it but now I'm realizing that I'm perfectly willing to pull the trigger on a deal that won't get me market value if it gets me the players I want and I'll always opt for a below market deal that I like over a deal that looks good on paper but doesn't feature a player I'm really interested in. When no on in the deal is elite anyways, it doesn't seem worth it to waste a lot of time haggling or negotiating with other owners. I've had a few times where public negotiations have worked for me but sometimes I'll put someone on the block very publicly (say Urias for instance) and it's mostly crickets.
  18. Wait... What? Santiago who?
  19. To furthere complicate matters, Steve Tolleson is out of options.
  20. Team could use the bullpen depth. There's litterally nothing to complain about here.
  21. Running out of people to spend it on. Who's left who might command that much? K-Rod? He certainly wouldn't make for the most exciting attribution of funds.
