  1. It was Petricka. Presumedly another move to come for Smoak. Assuming Granderson isn't retro-acted to the dl, it's probably Urena this time but a Morales DFA feels inevitable right now. Hernandez and/or Pearce would make better full time DHs and Donaldson could use starts there too. When Granderson feels better, Alford probably gets swapped for a pitcher and the real interesting decision should be when Pearce comes back.
  2. Is Tercet even looking at the number? Teoscar's minor league numbers were actually good and most people here were quite happy with the acquisition. This seems motivated either by a puerile desire to rain on the parade or a ridiculous overreaction to Teoscar's small sample size k rate of 2017. Teoscar was good in the minors but his hot start in the majors last season was really weird and unsustainable. His plate discipline numbers got worse but his net results were ridiculously good. This year his K rate is back where it normally is and that's good. He's looking a lot like the player we were happy to get in the first place but with the added bonus of some brief major league success under his belt. There's really no reason to hate on Teoscar unless you want to stay stuck on last year's near 40% k rate over 27 games. Is Teoscar always going to put up the number he's putting up now? Of course he isn't but no one in their right mind would project him for a 450 wOBA going forward anyways. If you're railing against that, you're railing against the most casual form of analysis, a straw man argument really.
  3. Damn It. I was just debating picking up Aguilar this morning.
  4. I don't really get the impetus to move Tulo. Diaz is a nice depth piece to have but any discussion about him stealing the shortstop job has been premature. At his very worst, Tulo still provides the same kind of production of Diaz does now. You could argue that with youth on his side, Diaz is more likely to bounce back but let's see if it actually happens before worrying about what to do with Tulo. Tulo, as far as we've seen, isn't so bad that he can't start and Diaz, as far as we know, isn't so good that he can't be a back up. That could change. Worry about it if and when it does.
  5. I just read through the last several pages of this thread to figure out why Beede was on waivers and thought I doubt anyone has much appetite for bumping that conversation, I just want to point out something about searching the sheet because there seems to be some confusion about how to do it. The search function in the sheet is absolutely reliable. What isn't reliable is the search function of your browser. You can't search the sheet that way. It doesn't work and never has and I'm surprised some people haven't learned that yet. At most the browser might pick up something that is on screen at the time but I'm not even sure that it even does that. To avoid any confusion you really should never be accessing the sheet through a browser tab. Download the Google sheets app to your phone and always use that. Everyone in the league probably has a smart phone on them at all time anyways. This should cause zero inconvenience and make all sheet verification 100% reliable. /end rant
  6. You're only one pitcher short of a full lineup though and that's all that's really expected of you. Just trade me Kolby Allard for Robbie Erlin and a pick and you're good to go.
  7. In theory, I like this for Boxy but since it's Boxy, Sale's arm should explode any minute now.
  8. I believe that TCA made an illegal add. Jordan Hicks has never pitched a game above A ball.
  9. No one was making a serious suggestion of racism. Laika was just being an ass.
  10. Yeah tons of casuals see his stuff on Twitter.
  11. I wonder if people would prefer doing it on a weekday? I know I would.
  12. No. Not until the first game on March 29 and then annoyingly, if they hold to precedent, there will be a really long week in terms of the add limit. This is especially annoying when they start with one of those international games.
  13. I think Laika has to do it using the draft system. Declare the draft over and put all the remaining players on waivers. He was just in there tinkering with the waiver wire order at the same time that I was so I'm guessing he's already on it.
  14. I like the proposal. I think if anyone had any issues they would have said as much.
  15. Just an echo chamber for Yankees pr. Teams are always super confident in so and so rookie up until they sign someone.
  16. Apparently, The Radio Scouts have been up since last night.
