  1. It's on Sportsnet.
  2. It's a published open league so it shouldn't require an invite. There should be somewhere to click but I you me want to email you an invitation anyways, pm me your email address.
  3. If you want a contribution this year, Boyd is your man. Otherwise Smoral and Labourt probably the highest ceiling as Angrioter says. That being said, there's no guaranteed they'll contribute at all. Boyd is the safest pick fwiw.
  4. Fantasy Draft tonigh at 7 pm Eastern for a league in which I'm the commissioner. It's rotisserie with a twist. We start with 20 teams for 2 months, have weekly eliminations for 2 months and then run with 12 until the end. The fun of this format is all the waiver activity around the eliminated teams (that's if you're not eliminated of course and if you are eliminated, at least you get put out of your mysery). We'll be using FAAB (free agent acquisition budget) to add strategy to the waiver aspect. There's are core of returning owners some of which have been doing it for awhile but we need some new bodies. I'm not even going to bother with invites. Here's the URL: http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/21575. Join if you're interested.
  5. I regret not making a play for Pomeranz or Nelson. I like both of them a lot.
  6. From a striclty utilatarian perspective, nothing can top the versatility of a tomato in the fruit world and it's probably second only to onions overall for fruits and vegetable.
  7. We have a winner. Best fruit ever.
  8. Aren't chews just round pieces of chewing gum?
  9. Hard to say. Really needs a vaguer description.
  10. I wouldn't touch that post with either your dick or your pole.
  11. Like I said before, that's a possible explanation and one of the simplest ones but I'm not going to make a sweeping assumption about this batch of guys any more than I did about the first batch of guys proposed in this thread. You have to look at each case individually. Others have mentioned type of contact as being a big factor as well (GB\FB). I believe there are formulas that will give you a pitcher's xBABIP against based on different ratios which in turn should give you a more precise idea of how sustainable a given pitcher's babip against is. I'm not sure those formulas would adjust for pitcher defense though so once again, you might have to factor a positive adjustment for the Mark Buehrle and Clayton Kershaw's of the world and maybe even a negative one for some especially garbage fielders.
  12. Ah man... There's been so much talk about Castro that I kind of ignored the very real possiblity that both Osuna will break camp as relievers. Starting prospects? We don't need no stinking starting prospects.
  13. You'd have to look at all these individual cases but the simplest explanation is usually better defense and the simplest explanation for that better defense is usually that the pitcher is a good fielder himself. This was addressed indirectly in Hurl's post where he mentionned Buehrle's defense. Buehrle earns himself a lot of extra outs on balls in play just through the excellence of his own fielding. That's the biggest reason why he's consitently been able to beat his own projections (it's my understanding that Steamer and a few other systems started adjusting for pitcher defense last year specifically to be able to more accurately project both Buehrle and Kershaw).
  14. Rowdy: "I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubble gum.".
  15. Well in their defense, he is there to be the baseball expert and they would be expected to play along with that (not that they would know any better).
  16. Guess I didn't vote either but I don't think this is the only poll we've had on the matter. I distinctily remember one where BTS called Stroman/Sanchez the new Syndergaard/Sanchez debate. There's just something about actually pitching well that seems to trump upside.
  17. What's the deal with Ben Ennis? Is he smarter than Wilner or just likes to prod him?
  18. Smoak hitting is nice to see. The team's in a much better position with Smoak up and Barton in AAA than with Barton up and Smoak released.
  19. I expect both to make the team.
  20. He really should be competing against Sanchez so that at least one of them is held back in AAA for depth.
  21. I really wish he were competing against Sanchez instead of against Estrada. It would make a ton of sense to hold back one of the two in AAA.
  22. Well Dinger might not want to do it, but I'll gladly trade a Craig equivalent for Jimmy Nelson.
  23. Well in that case, why shop him in the first place?
