  1. Hug watch.
  2. Edwin scratched. Cola at 1B.
  3. Cola will start at 1B.
  4. Dragon Fruit's problem is not living up to appearances. This is also an issue with star fruit. They look awesome but they kinda suck.
  5. The only disgusting food is the dreaded guava. Pretty much everything else is fine.
  6. I thought it was a worthy gamble. Hated the commitment to JPA though. I was hoping Thole of all people would steal his job.
  7. I woudn't say that's a certainty but I do agree that having a lot of high profile talent SHOULD help attract more talent.
  8. Yes but you're basing that expectation based on reaction to trades that were far less popular and that doesn't make any sense.
  9. I liked it (sort of). I mean I hated it on paper but I felt like the Jays had already given up a lot of future in the Marlins trade and really had no choice but to keep being aggresive. I also thought there was a chance that Dickey would pitch like a number one for a fraction of the cost and that the rareness of that opportunity justified and aggresive move. That being said, I felt like the Jays took their feet off the pedal too soon. Their win-now team was left unfinished. They needed to trade Sanchez that off season too and really empty the holster if they were going to go all in. They needed even more win-now talent and they needed a proper 2B (or at the very least to hold on to Aviles/Gomes). Their supposed all-in win-now team was left unfinished. It took two years before AA finally added to the core with the likes of Martin and Donaldson by which time some of the traded players have started to come back to haunt us.
  10. Yes but even 50% is way more criticism than the Tulo trade is gathering right now. Regardless of the actual percentage, it's clearly not a valid comparison.
  11. He K's a lot but he also walks a lot. Different kind of hitter altogether. More selective.
  12. Is the fact that 99% of the people who are bitching about Dickey/Syndergaard now bitched about it then lost on you?
  13. I think the contract cast a long shadow over Reyes. I think we would have viewed Reyes a bit more positively if we had known that the Jays would be able to get out from the bad end of that deal. As it was, watching him deteriorate was kind of painful because you knew he would keep getting worse while costing more. It was hard to not let that sour you. It was hard to focus on the positives and ignore that. The team's refusal to use a defensive replacement didn't help matters either. Though it's not the only way a shortstop can provide value, it's still kind of a relief to have a shortstop now who should have an easier time maintaining defensive competence in his declining years.
  14. Moderate positives: - Tulo yet to debut - Bautista not seriously injured - Bullpen looked amazing with Hawkins Huge positive - Nats trade spared us the sight of Pigf***er McGee closing the game for the Phillies
  15. HEY.... This is a happy day remember?
  16. Jays SHOULD add a pitcher and possibly a LF by then too.
  17. Jays didn't negotiate Tulo's contract. He got one on a technicality. I can't see Bautista being that petty especially considering that he was upset about the team not making moves last year.
  18. Edwin and Jose are hardly the same.
  19. Yep. They're stupid. The fact that they expect to compete in 2016 and that EE is still under control then is what makes it work. Odds are they would be shopping him a year from now but that's not the Jays' problem.
  20. They still think they can be contenders. Kenny Williams is talking about this only being the first year of their window and that they shouldn't give up in only the first year of their plan.
  21. Quintana is signed through 2020. That would def make him more attractive to the Jays but that would also make it much more surprising if he's moved at all.
  22. I would just write off 2015 if I were you.
