    That's a weird snippet from the article I posted. If your catching prospect turns into "the rich man's Greg Zaun", you'd take that to the bank every time. That would be an excellent outcome.

    Well like I said, it's not a nuanced medium.

    Well average fastball might be accurate if you're talking about the overall command and velocity but I just took it to mean average velocity. Twitter doesn't really lend itself to nuance.

    Ben Nicholson-Smith said he had an average fastball and I was going off of that but you're right that the scouting report contradicts that.

    It's not covered. Back in the Godfrey/JPR years, the Jays received equalization payments and as a show of gratitudes the Jays were good little soldiers and didn't go over slot in the draft (this may also have been a factor in why they didn't sign Bonds but that's just me speculating). When Beest and AA took over, they wanted to to go over slot so they gave that up the equalization payments.
