  1. Like it. I mean, why not? Zimmer is the (very) poor man's type of player this roster needs. Speed+defense and a lefty to boot. Atkins loading up on speedy lefty late-20's lottery tickets all of a sudden.
  2. I wonder who our Curt Schilling would be. Plenty of good options, it would seem.
  3. Not that there's anything wrong with that
  4. To be fair, most of Grant's scouting of Tapia's baserunning has been from his radio screen.
  5. He looks like he's gonna fit in well with the Vlad/Lourdes/Teo gang as well.
  6. Great. Let's hope we have a bunch of minor league teams on our schedule this year.
  7. Small sample size or not, "all he's ever done is rake" is a pretty colourful assessment of his career. It sure would be nice if he rakes for us though.
  8. I could see them taking that big step from laughable to terrible this year. But imagine having to play 47% of your games against the Jays/Yanks/Sox/Rays.
  9. It's getting exhausting checking every few minutes to see if we have JRam yet.
  10. You impress easily, don't you? Career 96 wRC+
  11. Biggio/Espinal has the chance to be a really really good platoon. I don't think 5-6 WAR is out of the question if everything goes right. Heck, Espinal had 2.2 himself last year in fewer than half a year's worth of plate appearances.
  12. It made sense. Until a lockout happens, it is only a potential lockout, no matter how certain it may be.
  13. You're completely missing the point. Maybe I should have said looming instead of potential. But the point is that I think they want to make a big swing but they want to wait until the dust clears from this stoppage.
  14. Nah I'm sure we can put together an enticing enough package without including Moreno. The question is how many and which of those other guys will it take.
  15. That's pretty much my entire point. You won't see them swing for the fences until the labour dispute is settled.
  16. I honestly think they go and get Ramirez. But I think they might wait for clarity on the potential lockout. Trading top prospects for two years of JRam is one thing, but if worse comes to worse and we lose an entire season (would anyone really be totally shocked?) and suddenly you're trading these guys for only one year of control, the value looks completely different.
  17. KG seems like a good dude. Ray always seemed to give off a "bordering on dbag territory" vibe.
  18. Imagine? Easily the best lineup in Jays history, even under the assumption Lourdes goes to Cleveland in a JRam trade. cf Springer 3b Ramirez 1b/dh Vlad dh/1b Freeman ss Bichette rf Teo c Jansen (Moreno soon) 2b Biggio/Espinal lf Grichuk or some other shitbag
  19. Maybe the Tigers take a page out of the Rangers' playbook and blow their load on two middle infielders? Baez at 2B and Correa at SS
  20. If it makes you feel better the only jersey I've ever bought is Osuna, lol.
  21. This is a good and probably overlooked point. I would love to pencil him in as our #5 and dream about him finally realizing that massive potential but realistically, yeah, we're going to have to add a little more support in that rotation.
  22. Thought he'd get a little more. Sucks he's leaving but happy he's out of the division, at least.
  23. Probably a less than zero chance they trade Bo.
  24. Fantastic offseason so far. Now let's go get an impact left-handed bat for the infield and a power arm at the back of the pen.
  25. I'm not super familiar with Texas' middle infield situation. Is he gonna play second or short?
