  1. Nobody is going to be forfeiting games. This is a dumb argument.
  2. Assuming no Gurriel and Espinal: Springer Bo Vlad Teo Kirk Jansen Chapman Tapia Merrifield Moreno Biggio Bradley Jr Zimmer Lopez? (Is he the only bench option left?) Manoah Gausman Stripling Romano Garcia Mayza Bass Pop Cimber Phelps Berrios Kikuchi (might actually be more useful than Richards and neither will throw meaningful pitches anyway) If Gurriel and Espinal are available, obviously Lopez is off and Zimmer is my other cut.
  3. Just got tickets to ALDS game 4. I have a good feeling I'll be going.
  4. Assuming the Tampa game is called or Boston doesn't blow a six run lead, we're officially locked in with the M's.
  5. Looking more and more like a Jays/Mariners WC series.
  6. Yeah but at least we'll be going into the last two series in the driver's seat.
  7. Tonight sucked but at least the Rays lost.
  8. Nothing to lose!
  9. What a joke. What should have been a stikeout, a ball hit one foot in front of the plate that bounces through the right side, and a shallow fly ball. One run.
  10. Obviously a very small sample but old friend Groshans has had a solid few games to start his career.
  11. Tampa's schedule the rest of the way is probably tougher than ours. HOU, TOR, @CLE, @HOU, @BOS. If we can somehow manage a split this weekend, I like our chances to finish ahead of them.
  12. None of the central teams scare me whatsoever but playing any of them would likely mean playing three on the road. I don't have a ton of confidence in our offense against Seattle's top three starters. So gimme the Rays at home I guess. Just NOT at the Trop.
  13. With LGJ it's hard to know if that was good baserunning or if he just ran and got lucky.
  14. Well, here we go. 16 of the next 21 games are against Baltimore or Tampa. Buckle up.
  15. Nice lineup. I like Chapman cleanup and probably a good call moving LGJ down a little right now.
  16. Has there been an official announcement? Looks like they're just plugging in whoever's turn it is that day.
  17. So what are we looking at pitching-wise for the Pirates and O's series? Manoah tonight, which lines him up for Wednesday's finale against the O's. You definitely want Gausman in the O's series. He last pitched Tuesday, so he likely gets one of the games on Monday on five days rest. Berrios last pitched Monday, and although he's been completely unreliable, you probably still want him vs. the O's over our other terrible options, so does he get the other Monday game on six days rest? Stripling last pitched Sunday so he probably goes Saturday vs the Pirates which leaves us a Lawrence/bullpen game on Sunday. So I guess White gets Tuesday vs. Baltimore? Not ideal, but there is literally nobody else. Vs. Pittsburgh: Manoah/Stripling/Lawrence Vs. Baltimore: Berrios/Gausman/White/Manoah Does that look right?
  18. Lots of talk about Bo hitting 7th but Teo hitting 6th is maybe just as surprising.
  19. Weird lineup today. Tapia in cf, Merrifield 2b, and Biggio rf. If those are the guys we're going with, I think I'd prefer Tapia rf, Merrifield cf, and Biggio 2b.
  20. Wow Cleveland's been getting strikes further off the plate than that all night long.
  21. If Vladdy hits a homer with two out in the ninth to make it 8-1 does he celebrate in the jacket?
  22. I just noticed JBJ is only 32. Wow, I would have guessed like 35-36
  23. I think it's an upgrade, even if it's a small one. You don't want either guy at the plate in the postseason but if you somehow find yourself in a situation where it has to happen, JBJ does inspire a LITTLE more confidence than Zimmer. And he's probably still a little better defensively. Zimmer is the faster runner but that skill isn't as important now with Merrifield here. And even if Merrifield is in the starting lineup, that means at least one, if not both of Biggio and Tapia should be available to pinch run.
