  1. No, I just fail to see how allowing a pitcher to wear whatever number they want equates to a lack of respect for the game.
  2. You're comparing pitchers wearing whatever number they choose to blatant cheating? Interesting take.
  3. Completely forgot Sierra was here. For all of 14 games in 1997.
  4. Shawn Green was one of my favourites. That '99 season he had was a monster.
  5. The good news is we've seen him rake after two surgeries already. Hopefully three is no different.
  6. Are we a lock to sign this guy?
  7. So vs RHP Jansen/Kirk Vlad Biggio/Merrifield Chapman Bo Varsho KK Springer Belt Vs LHP Jansen Vlad Espinal Chapman Bo Merrifield Varsho Springer Kirk Loaded with options and versatility. So unlike any Jays team of recent memory. I'm loving Atkins' off-season so far.
  8. Osuna was money. And Stro. Douche or not, dude bled Toronto. That team had all kinds of attitude.
  9. Not only are they all capable but two of the three are elite and the other I think was roughly league average in cf (correct me if I'm wrong about Springer). Can't wait to see them tracking down baseballs in the new RC outfield.
  10. I wouldn't mind McCutchen. Still a league average bat and put up a wRC+ of 169 vs LHP as recently as 2021. I would have to assume he comes with a hefty bag of vetrin presents as well.
  11. I really hope we get more than 70 games out of Jansen this year. If he can give us closer to 90 we're in great shape. 60 for Kirk sounds about right and hopefully Varsho can fill in the remainder. No AAAA shitbags this year please.
  12. Kirk is a pretty ideal #2 hitter. Lots of on-base, lots of contact. He won't have to run much if Vlad gets back to his 2021 numbers hitting third.
  13. I don't think I could stomach that scumbag on the Jays
  14. Trade 1:Carroll for Kirk and Tiedeman Trade 2: Thomas and Pfaadt for Kirk Are either of these realistic?
  15. Is Frelick ready for MLB?
  16. Yes. Harper/Turner/Realmuto/Schwarber is pretty good too though.
  17. Zzzzzzzzz. I hate the calm before the storm.
  18. So who are we thinking is the most likely to be a Blue Jay in the next few weeks? Thomas? Followed by Varsho? Carroll is the pipe dream I guess.
  19. I wouldn't mind seeing the Dodgers win. They've just been so dominant for so many years, and it would be nice to see them rewarded with more than one championship, and at least one that didn't happen in weird 60-game season played without fans in the stands.
  20. I get what you're saying but I dunno, I would take a young stud C and two CF over three CF.
  21. There definitely could be a match with the D-Backs. I mean, how many CF do you need? (Carroll, Thomas, Varsho, heck even Marte played 70 games in cf last year).
  22. Kirk. I really don't think his value will ever be higher. He'll probably continue to hit moving forward but I don't know how long he'll have any defensive value at all and if he can barely run 1st to home at 23 years old, it's gonna be pretty ugly moving forward. And it's not like his bat is THAT good. He faded pretty badly in the second half of the season. You can probably extend Jansen for a couple years on a sweetheart deal and Moreno can break in slowly while also providing spot duty at 2B. But I agree our focus should be keeping him mostly as a C.
  23. I'd be open to expanding the deal for sure. But Grisham/Kirk looks to me like a classic buy low/sell high. Grisham is projected for 9.9 fWAR over the next three years, and Kirk is 5.7.
  24. Any chance we can buy low on a guy like Grisham from SD? Excellent baserunner, excellent sprint speed. Good centre fielder and would allow us to move Springer to RF. Good plate discipline. Has decent underlying numbers with the bat. Hits from the left side. 25 years old. Grisham for Kirk?
  25. May as well start looking ahead to next year. Clear needs: - (At least) 1 SP - 2 high leverage swing and miss bullpen arms - impact left-handed bat to compliment Vlad/Bo/Springer, preferably with solid on base/contact skills Disposable assets include one of the catchers, Teo, Lourdes. Nobody else has any value really. Any names we should be looking at to fill these voids?
