  1. I agree that Theo and the Cubs will be very aggressive to land him. Real question is how much Tanaka would want to play for the Cubs. Reports seem to indicate that he prefers the west coast. (dodgers). Also, it always seems like Japanese players have a boner to play for the Yankees. You're absolutely right though. Yankees, Cubs or Dodgers.
  2. Just finished Shi Davidi's book ' Great Expectations. One thing relevant to this thread that i was unaware of was the fact it was AA who wanted to pursue Joey Bats once the Pirates put him on waivers and got Jp's "Blessing" to make the deal in which he orchestrated Robinzon Diaz for Joey Bats. Also, It's not like JP "wanted" EE. Infact....he really didn't want to take EE at all. He had to take him in order to get both Zack Stewart and Josh Roenicke. Which both flamed out fairly quick. So you can't really give JP credit at all for that deal. He was forced to take EE to get prospects which ultimately busted.
  3. A healthy Jays lineup is a top 10 lineup. Easy.
  4. I guess it's more expensive for a burger combo in the DR than Canada. lol.
  5. The Jays are going to have to start making the playoffs consistently before free agents are going to want to come here without paying a premium.
  6. lol thanks for the breaking news.
  7. Jack Z said: "We're at a point where I think we are trying to do a few more things. I'm not sure that anything is going to be a huge splash. We have some options out there that we can either make a trade or could add another piece to it. I think that if we go for another large deal, that obviously is going to have to go above my head. And at this moment we are where we are, and we're trying to make things work with what we have." I guess they could sign him. If I'm Seattle though i have bigger holes to fill then starting pitching. They need another bat and a couple relievers.
  8. Seattle is pretty much at it's spending limit. This is funny, because they spent so much on Cano and will most likely finish 2nd last in the AL west.
  9. In the FA contest i had him going to the dodgers, but if i could change that I'm thinking the cubs are going to be all over him.
  10. I think Jason Parks recent public boner for Stroman had alot to do with it. Stroman has been getting alot of attention recently and that's going to influence the opinion of him. As you said, 1A and 1B.....
  11. Based on the results, it's probably unnecessary to have a poll for the #2 prospect. Also, once we start moving down the list the opinions will greatly differ and more then 10 options should be available. Is that even possible? I obviously don't start polls. lol
  12. I'd like to know who voted Sean Nolin and AJ Jimenez. They probably shouldn't be allowed to vote in the future polls too. You know, to make the list somewhat legitimate.
  13. I remember DJBlueRay would always post his "guaranteed" "Lock" picks on the other board. I swear he got like 10% of what he posted right. Statistically speaking that's quite tough to be that bad. .... If only i faded his picks. Man, i would have made a ton.
  14. LOL @ "Yes, if he can only work on being the exact opposite of what he is now, he could be a superstar."
  15. Best part of my day: Coming home to see Moh You was banned. Thank you, Mods....Christmas came early.
  16. For the first time i went Stroman. It's still 1a and 1b for me though. lol @ whoever picked Nolin.
  17. If their going to give him away for a 'meh' prospect or two...sure, why not? No downside. I just feel if that were the case he would be gone by now.
  18. I'm not a big fan of Epsinosa. He was JPA bad with the bat last season. I get on the outside he would look like a great buy low. Problem is Washington isn't viewing him like that and are simply not going to give him away unless they get something useful back.
  19. If we're not going to address the pitching and rely on in house options we better upgrade at second base and hope Navarro season last year wasn't a fluke.
  20. Did not know that Boras was his agent. true, but he would be good in the Mark Derosa role. He can platoon for Lind and be used at 2nd base in a pinch.
  21. It's puzzling how we haven't signed Jeff Baker. The fit is so obvious...
  22. Agreed. Especially with the 2014 AAA Depth that would have made the signing less risky.
  23. I think it would take more then just prospects. It would take such an absurd package to land him....maybe along the lines of Sanchez, Stroman, and Lawrie + low level prospects. It's a moot point. He's not going to get moved.
  24. Haha. Yeah i would do it. The Angels wouldn't though.
