  1. Another Norris/Van story is the frontpage of espn.com right now if anyone is interested.
  2. Johan was my favourite player in the world for a few years. Hope he can come in and surprise.
  3. Does this take into account he's only facing leftys? Last I checked, right handed hitters bat occasionally in the 9th.
  4. How we shore up the pen will determine how good we are. I'm content with the rotation with Estrada/Sanchez/Norris competing for the 5th spot. Should be solid/good I would think, barring a major Stroman setback. The offence should be excellent, despite the whole at 2B. An elite closer would do this team wonders, as I do like the rest of the pen as long as we get that true shutdown 9th inning guy.
  5. Source? Saying I liked and like Turner more than Pentecost doesn't mean I think he's Ricky Henderson.
  6. Anyone familiar with e White Sox system want to weigh in on what the Jays equivalent would have been? I was hoping we could fleece the A's again for Shark.
  7. Anyone discounting the value of a good bullpen should read up on Win Probability Added.
  8. AA needs to do some ninja things. Holland would be excellent. A closer is important if we actually plan on being good.
  9. The point is there is no harm in bringing him along slowly, let him force your hand. Especially with Saunders in the fold, do we really expect he will out hit Saunders as a rookie?
  10. Both are prospects, so neither is finished. Who knows about either bat, But there's so much nuance in a catcher, and so many facets to be good at in order to qualify as a good defender at that position in the majors. Turners speed and defensive tools are gonna play in the majors. And I think he's got just as good a chance to hit too.
  11. Can he do any of those things at the ML level? I'm not sold on it.
  12. I was heavily in favour of Trea Turner over Pentecost. My opinion hasn't Changed.
  13. You truly are an engima... those are not the words of a fan of the Blue Jays. Yet here you are, on this messageboard, not only posting, but moderating. An interesting case study in fandom indeed. Props on the anagramming though, that was impressive. And at least you're honest and holding firm. Some of these other guys are flip-flopping more than a devil-ray on astro turf.
  14. I've got a hot tip for anyone who wants to be a bandwagining ship jumper. Just root for whatever team is winning. If they start losing, just root for the other team. Simply rooting for whoever is winning will make your life easier. You're welcome.
  15. While he lacks power against lefties, he still gets on base against them. I'd be happy just penciling him into that spot.
  16. Definitely pitching. Rotation and Bullpen need some help, both could use a high end guy.
  17. What do you mean where was I? I watched 100+ games last year easy. If I write BTS on my dick, will you give it a kiss? f*** you Ghomeshi style.
  18. You can praise or criticize and still rep your team. Jumping ship shows a complete lack of character though. Especially when it's a divisional opponent. Guess what guys? I'm a kings fan now! And a Green Bay packers fan! Also really like those Spurs! It's pathetic behavior. If you jump ship once, you can't jump back. At least with your dignity.
  19. What? Because I was a fan of a player on the Jays who was performing well at the time? Yea that shows a real lack of character like a bandwagining ship jumper. But kudos to you for coming to the defense of your boyfriends.
  20. ^Youre such a maverick. Takes a lot of balls to bandwagon like that... Oh wait, what's the opposite of balls?
  21. They deserve to be called out and shamed.
  22. No Andrew Friedman. No Joe Maddon. No payroll, and a team that's likely going to be terrible- until they are moved to another city. Meanwhile the Jays look to be an exciting team making a push for contention, with a bunch of exciting additions too. Sucks these guys are stuck cheering for the Rays... I mean, they'd be the ultimate flakes for jumping back on the Jays ship again at this point...
  23. Don't forget how dominant Casey was before the food poisoning epic weight loss thing. Heck opponents were OPSing under .500 against him, and he was sporting a 14:1 K/BB ratio. I expect him to bounce back. Even if he doesn't, Sanchez in the wings would be a nice backup plan.
