  1. Theoretically, what would David Price cost? Would be a little scared to give up Norris or Alford. Would Pompey, Pentecost, and one of Harris/SRF do it?
  2. Anyone still gonna argue me that Trea Turner shouldnt have been picked instead if Pentecost?
  3. It is what we thought it was... An Achilles heal.
  4. OMG bunting on this turf is going to be the new thing.
  5. Ya this turf is f***ed.
  6. Pillar is playing fantastic, so no need to rush him.
  7. Considering this team is in 'must win now mode", I don't really give a crap about micromanaging option years since our bullpen with Castro and Osuna removed at this point is downright awful.
  8. To be fair, I said "making me a believer". And it's been all three games so far, and the preseason.
  9. Either way, as long as he's comfortable and the highest leverage guy.
  10. Figure this deserves it's own thread since it'll be a hot topic for this team all year. To get it started, what do you guys think of Miguel Castro as closer? To be honest I thought the closer role was going to be a huge handicap, but Castro is making me a believer. It's been a while since we had a guy like him, a 20 year old pure pen type with nasty ass stuff. That 90 MPH cutter or whatever it was compliments his high 90s heat beautifully and he can be counted on to throw strikes.
  11. Who puts up a better slash line this year, Travis or Martin?
  12. There are a lot of things to like about this Jays team, namely the lineup and a nice balance of proven studs and talented youngsters. My main concern is how we will fare in close games, particularly with the bullpen which I'm not sold on. I do think the division is as weak as it's been though.
  13. Nice. Hopefully he takes the job and never gives it back.
  14. How has Travis looked? Is he a real option to start Opening Day?
  15. The problem with this thinking, is that you are talking about "perceived value", the value of these prospects as perceived by outsiders. I think the ONLY way to look at a trade, is how it ultimately worked out. Otherwise you start delving into the world of hypotheticals.
  16. Yea, again, Smoaks glove has been excellent at first, and is a necessity with Reyes and Donaldson.
  17. Thanks for that, Kind of crazy the difference in contracts the two guys got, but obviously Martin has a much more extensive track record.
  18. I'm basing this purely off hearsay over the years, but isn't Cervelli good in that regard as well?
  19. Just out of curiosity, how much better is Martin going to be than Cervelli this year?
  20. "The Asians" lol
  21. Smoak is really showing he's got a nice glove at 1st. If he can hit, he can be a solid addition.
  22. I still don't see why we didn't bring back Janssen. I know he fell of a cliff in the 2nd half, but there's a logical explanation for it other than decline (the severe illness and weight loss thing).
  23. Especially considering our ballpark/division. (easier to attract bats than arms)
