  1. I think people want to do with Saunders what we did with Smoak last year. We like you, but not for your current price tag.
  2. I'd take Worley on a minor league deal. I'd probably be willing to give him a MLB deal if he would be okay with a split role.
  3. AL East isn't even that tough of a division anymore.
  4. I don't know if it would go against the rules but I think anyone who has worked on concrete floors like at a supermarket or department store knows how much of a difference a nice pair of cushioned but supportive shoes makes. I know it's not the same thing but that's essentially what turf is. It's a carpet on top of concrete. Perhaps this could help ease our players joints.
  5. If you want to find out a good resource might be trying to buy the 91 and 92 editions of Spring Training Magazine somewhere online. They might have rosters (their website has the past couple of years of rosters on it.
  6. He wasn't free. Also we spent a lot on Alford to play football. Yeah he quit football but we still spent that money. And as for your Cardinals comment they don't tend to trade guys they just let them walk (Albert). they just get the most out of their system. The Giants get guys to outperform their projections.
  7. Both Wang and Ortiz had extended success at the MLB level. I don't blame AA for rolling the dice.
  8. Muni was a good AA find. He may not be a superstar bat but he had good at bats.
  9. Yes. That's where they come from.
  10. They don't really. Very few teams develop their pitchers to be elite relievers.
  11. We found Hendricks in a pitching trash pile. I don't think we'll have any problems creating a bullpen this year.
  12. I could see a rebuilding team like the Phillies taking him.
  13. Why wasn't Smith protected?
  14. Never bad to have decent catching depth.
  15. Think Dwight Smith Jr is going to be added to the 40 man soon? I guess Dean and Burns also need to get added although I doubt either would get picked.
  16. Every moment of my life is like an Aerosmith song.
  17. Maybe DD is bitter about not being able to go after a promotion so he's hurting is owner in the checkbook.
  18. 2 years shortened by injuries. Maybe he feels he'll be able to cash out on the QO and hopefully improve his stock for next year.
  19. I agree. Maybe we can get a couple of years of Santos magic with the proper development.
  20. I don't think he'll go to the Marlins. If AA wants control of the baseball side of a team I can't believe that he'd think that Loria will give it to him. Loria meddles.
  21. That's true. I'd imagine it was the combination of a few things, but reading a few articles in the past on how much he worked, it wouldn't surprise me if his kids had something to do with it. That's all.
  22. The man has 2 (I believe) young kids and was probably working an ungodly amount of time. Maybe the hiring of a new president was his perfect opportunity to leave his job and maybe find something a little more family friendly.
  23. I'd be fine with Thole as our backup catcher. Our offense is great that we don't really need too much production from a catcher.
  24. Name one franchise that has 50 prospects that the last 20 aren't "borderline 25th man" potential.
  25. That is complete bull. If you're a good, well run franchise (Cardinals) you top out at 25/30 at most. I think the AA tenure was pretty good in the draft/signage department.
