  1. While I understand that what Tampa has done don't forget that they were helped by YEARS of being on top of the draft board. While their first round picks haven't really lived up to expectations they still picked high in other rounds.
  2. The question is how much weight does he gain in his next 4 years on the job?
  3. The late 80s haven't hit middle Canada yet?
  4. Hurl, will you be my Spiritual Moderator?
  5. Gasp! Deadpool is WRONG!
  6. Think of mods as a police force. Sometimes really bad things happen and the police are called to investigate and restore order (like the mods do in soooooo many GDT). Other times they deal with people crying wolf and just whining over a minor little issue and they try to calm people down and get them level again so the situation doesn't escalate.
  7. Please don't bait the fishies.
  8. A catcher who is horribly defensively who always plays first base, where we have at least 3 people capable of playing there. Pass.
  9. Twins are doing exactly what Seattle did the last few years in acquiring many players who play the same position and then have to play them out of their natural position.
  10. We offered 3/36 to Price and Happ and said whoever accepts first gets it.
  11. Bryant is handsomer than Joc.
  12. Price did awesome in the playoffs.
  13. Who picks Balbino?
  14. Yes. If we are not going for a 1 or 2 and instead are going with 4's and 5's it might make sense to have 6 regular starters instead of 5. If a longman is required we can just have a pitcher go on 5 days rest. If there isn't a huge drop off in production it might be the most cost effective way to deal with pitching considering what we have.
  15. If we did go with a 6 man rotation though we might be able to stretch more innings out of them. That's what I'm saying.
  16. Since we seem to only have 4's and 5's does anyone think that maybe having a 6 man rotation might make sense? Keep both Hutch and Chavez stretched out.
  17. I think people want to do with Saunders what we did with Smoak last year. We like you, but not for your current price tag.
  18. I'd take Worley on a minor league deal. I'd probably be willing to give him a MLB deal if he would be okay with a split role.
  19. AL East isn't even that tough of a division anymore.
  20. I don't know if it would go against the rules but I think anyone who has worked on concrete floors like at a supermarket or department store knows how much of a difference a nice pair of cushioned but supportive shoes makes. I know it's not the same thing but that's essentially what turf is. It's a carpet on top of concrete. Perhaps this could help ease our players joints.
  21. If you want to find out a good resource might be trying to buy the 91 and 92 editions of Spring Training Magazine somewhere online. They might have rosters (their website has the past couple of years of rosters on it.
  22. He wasn't free. Also we spent a lot on Alford to play football. Yeah he quit football but we still spent that money. And as for your Cardinals comment they don't tend to trade guys they just let them walk (Albert). they just get the most out of their system. The Giants get guys to outperform their projections.
  23. Both Wang and Ortiz had extended success at the MLB level. I don't blame AA for rolling the dice.
  24. Muni was a good AA find. He may not be a superstar bat but he had good at bats.
  25. Yes. That's where they come from.
