    They weren't bad signings, they just turned out badly. Who would have thought that both would completely fall off the face of the earth?

    bottom 5 payroll teams seem to have a 2 or 3 year window for success (Late 2000s Rays, early 2000s A's). Unless a lot of things go right their way in the draft, that window closes when the team stops having high 1st round picks.

    Kevin Cash was a good catcher when you included his defensive abilities. Sandy Martinez and Ken Huckaby were semi-regulars and weren't very good. By the way, 2003 Greg Myers was a good offensive catcher.

    What about trying to make a run at Travis Snider as a 4th outfielder? I'm not sure he'd be able to play center but the Jays threw Bats out there last year a few times and it didn't turn out horribly.

    This board is very active and it also has a bunch of guys who are well versed in sabermetrics. I'm not surprised that some journalists read it. From my experience of guys that go into sports journalism, most are borderline retarded.

    That's kinda what happened 9/11 for me. I was in school and all of the sudden we were all told to go home. They thought a war was starting.

    I'd love to get him back in the organization and try to have him be both an outfielder and pitcher. I think he could be valuable if he did both.

    Sanchez isn't exactly known for his pinpoint control. He probably had no clue that ball was going to hit the guys knee.
