They won't have Arod for most or all of next year. Anyway he'll be like 38 and he's not the player he was. Jeter will be 40. Pineda...who knows what he is after all the surgeries. They won't necessarily sign Cano, either. Their farm system doesn't have anything ready for the next couple years. Texeira will be back but it's another player on the downslope who's stats have been declining. It won't be easy for them to turn the tide against all that.

The 11 game streak was amazing, obviously. They could do no wrong, and by the Orioles series it just felt like winning was inevitable. Then the bubble popped. I can't think of much else. -

New York was leading 5-2 in the 8th, gave up a three run homer, but score in the ninth on a wild pitch and end up winning 6-5. Second time in less than a week they win a game on a wild pitch.

Happ just isn't an AL East pitcher. Cannot roll with him going forward.
