  1. The Jays/Rogers must hate this news. They're not getting Santana, they're not trying to get Santana, they don't want Santana, they have no money to get Santana. But this news out there just makes them look cheap.
  2. Woke up with a stiff neck Saturday. Expected to only be out a day!
  3. If last year is any indication re Jays reporting injury times, I'm just hoping he's back by Opening Day.
  4. I believe that's called the Romero Sequence.
  5. Not sure where to put this, but this is interesting:
  6. Exactly. The thing where we go one hitter per pitcher and make like three or four changes in an inning just saps the energy out of a game at a time it should be exciting.
  7. I like most of it. I would fix the draggy pace of play issues though. Main things would be to enforce the rule keeping batters in the box, and I would like to see some kind of limit on mid inning pitching changes.
  8. Sounds like a huge discount for the Angels.
  9. Votto is awesome. Wish he was ours.
  10. The sooner the better. Obviously.
  11. Kinsler's numbers aren't that impressive outside Arlington. And I wonder who was going back the other way. Perhaps it's for the best this didn't happen.
  12. Certainly I would take him on a 1 year deal. Heck, sign Jiminez at 3/39 while we're at it. Doubt Burnett really wants to come back here though.
  13. Right now I see New York winning between 80-90 games. If they stay healthy and not too much age-related decline and Sabathia bounces back and Tanaka is pretty good, they could win 90. Some injuries and things fall apart and it's probably more towards 80. FWIW, the last projection I've seen has them at 85 wins, which feels right to me. I think people underestimate how much age erosion does to a roster. If it were 2006 or 2008, the current New York team (if we add in 2014 Tanaka) probably projects to like 95+ wins.
  14. Not sure if this has been posted before, but Clay Davenport's current projections for team records: http://claydavenport.com/?p=207
  15. No I wouldn't have. This.
  16. A lot depends on Sabathia and Tanaka. If CC is the guy we saw last year, and Tanaka is only meh and nothing special, then all of a sudden it doesn't look so hot.
  17. I think a lot of people here have become Jays fans since the glory years.
  18. AL East gonna AL East
  19. Yes. Yes. I've long been in favour of some kind of limit to mid-inning pitching changes. That and stop the hitters from stepping out of the box between every damn pitch.
