  1. Wilner just read a thing on air. It sounds like final decision is with crew chief.
  2. Sudden turnaround in the Seattle game...down 3-0 to up 5-3 quickly.
  3. http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Jerry-Seinfeld-No-Thanks-and-Leave.gif
  4. That 'years to come' thing isn't really true. A lot of the contracts on the team are up or have club options that can be declined within the next two years.
  5. I know. A few times I've run into that complaint, and I point out that the hockey season is actually a full month longer yet. People just sort of blink in incomprehension. Hockey going into the middle of June would be like MLB going into December. At some point you just have to end it. But anyway as I said somewhere else I wouldn't be against a slight shortening of the regular season if they could fit some more playoffs in there. I just don't think it's likely to happen because of lost revenue. Though a number of years ago the NHL did drop from 84 to their current 82 games, I'm not sure of the cause behind that.
  6. Agreed...don't really need a clock, just keep batters on the box. There's a lot of dead time that does nothing that's easy to eliminate if they want to. Just stop screwing around and play baseball.
  7. Actually I wouldn't be averse to cutting the regular season back slightly; they can then fit a bit more playoffs in there, such as a best of 3 wildcard play in. Doubt they'll back down from the 162 number though.
  8. Janssen's FIP this year is 4.46. His k/9 rate is sitting at 5.0, after being 8-9 the last few years. He shouldn't have been used for a 3rd straight day yesterday, but in any case, I'm not sure he's a guy you want to throw big Closer Money at.
  9. Bingo. You can't have Thole with 2 outs batting in that situation if you have someone like Reimold available.
  10. .500 teams don't even make the playoffs in MLB, so not sure what relevance that is.
  11. nothing would make me happier
  12. Exactly. Shooting yourself in the foot if you go into every season and you A) can never win a series at a division rival; and never win at a game at another division rival.
  13. Yes it did stop raining, but for some reason the Yankees groundscrew didn't get the tarp on in time, making the infield unplayable. Not making this up.
  14. The division is collectively 3 wins over .500. In previous years it would usually finish in the +50 range.
  15. Each pitching matchup looks close to a toss up to me. They're all big series from here on out as long as the Jays stay in contention, especially these divisional ones.
  16. For what it's worth:
  17. I'd like to see the Rays in Montreal, provided they don't do any other realignment. Toronto & Montreal in the AL East would be all kinds of fun. Interesting thing to contemplate is the A's moving to Montreal. Then, unless you want to unbalance the divisions again, there would have to be an ALE team moving to the Central. Which would probably be us.
