  1. Just had a thought! We have proven that we can win without JB! Would there be any posibility of unloading him before the deadline? I realize that he has a no trade clause but wonder if he would waive it. We could probably get a decent starter and bullpen help. Thoughts?
  2. Rumours swirling that Jays are interested in Carlos Beltran! I'd be all for this move. Have JB DH and EE @ 1st.
  3. As we slowly approach the deadline at the end of the month who, or what type of player should the Jays target?? I'd be all for going after another top end starter as a rental for the playoff push. With Sanchez heading to the pen, I just don't feel comfortable with Stroman, Estrada, Happ, and Dickey. Who would be possibly available at the deadline? This year is, IMO, our final year to go for it all before things blowup in the offseason. I say we go all in now! Thoughts???
  4. Nice to see the Jays winning back to back 1 run games. The Jays will win their share of blowouts once the offense heats up. Their expected wins was 102 last year and they went 15-28 in 1 run games. Just need a little luck and we will break the franchise record. Also noted they won 2 games in a row without a HR! Wonder when the last time that happened?
  5. This thread reminds me of this. Haha http://youtu.be/hxszN_1k6fQ
  6. I would say 4/90 or 5/100 would be the max I'd give up. If he wants more then that let him walk and take the draft pick! Ideally I'd prefer a 3 year contract by that will never happen. Someone is gonna be paying big dollars for a 40 year old declining slugger and I sure hope it ain't the Jays.
  7. Jays are introducing dynamic ticket prices this year. Thoughts??? http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/tor/ticketing/dynamic_pricing_faq.jsp
  8. Izturis is back. Discuss. Decent depth signing I guess. Ho hum. http://www.tsn.ca/jays-sign-if-izturis-to-minor-league-deal-1.430616
  9. Hosmer just Bucknered that ball, wow!
  10. Thank you both, Wang and King! I owe you guys!
  11. Link works but it's not the game. Just MLB network highlights? Any other Links please!!
  12. Anyone have a link where I can stream this game on my Samsung phone at work. I can't be a site that uses Flash. Thanks so much in advance for any links!
  13. With Edwin hitting his 38 HR tonight having a legit s*** at getting to 40. I ask the question has a team every had 3 40 HR hitters in one season?
  14. Pompey will be the Willie Canate of the 1993 WS team. He only came in once to pinch run and got thrown out in a pickle at home. Never played another game in the MLB. Still got a WS ring though lol.
  15. My 3rd live game this season! This one is gonna be electric!!! Go Jays!!!!!!
  16. Finishing 1st overall is absolutely huge!! Getting to face the wild card team is a huge advantage since we likely only face their #1 pitcher once.
  17. Thinking about purchasing mlbtv for the rest of the season. It's 24.99 right now. Can you watch Jays games or are they blacked out? Buying this so I can watch at work on my phone. Thanks. I live in Sudbury Ontario
  18. My first season really following the Jays was in 1990. I remember that huge collapse against Boston. Was heartbreaking as an 8 year old. Went to my first live game in June of 1991. Jays lost 3-1 to Seattle. Jays only run came off a HR from Kelly Gruber! Fondly remember watching both WS in 92 and 93. I remember being so mad in game 4 in 93 when the Phills took a huge lead that I shut the TV and went to bed only to find out the next morning from my Dad that they won 15-14! Good times!
  19. Noticed that capacity at the Dome is only about 46,500 now. Used to be 50k. When did 3,500 seats dissappear???
  20. Since I started this thread might as well give my opinion! Pure power the edge would have to go to the current squad. Top 4 guys have legit 30+ HR power while Carter would be the only true power hitter on the 1993 club. Speed would have to go to the 1993 club. You've got Henderson, Alomar, Fernandez who are all legit speed threats. Revere and to a certain extent Travis are the only real threats on the current club. Contact would have to go to the 1993 club. You've got Alomar, Olerud, Fernandez and Molitor who are all career .290+ hitters. Bench Hands down the current squad has a better bench. Overall If I had to choose I still think the 1993 club is better all around from top to bottom. 1 through 7 on that team is just unreal! Borders is really the only weak link on the team. Overall that team just provides more consistency throughout the order. My 2 cents anyway
  21. With all the discussion lately about how offensively talented the current squad is. How do you think they stack up to the 1993 squad? Discuss. 1993 Starters LF Ricky Henderson CF Devon White 2B Roberto Alomar RF Joe Carter DH Paul Molitor 1B John Olerud SS Tony Fernandez 3B Ed Sprague C Pat Borders Bench OF Rob Butler OF Will Canate IF Alfredo Griffin C Randy Knorr 2015 Starters SS Troy Tulowotzki 3B Josh Donaldson RF Jose Bautista DH Edwin Encarnacion C Russell Martin 1B Justin Smoak CF Kevin Pillar 2B Devin Travis LF Ben Revere Bench INF Ryan Goins INF Cliff Pennington UTI Chris Collabello C Dioner Navarro
  22. I'm going to Thursdays game vs Minny. It's a 707pm start. Anyone happen to know what time batting practice starts?? Also approx.what time do the gates open? Thanks!!
  23. Thanks for the input. Decided to just buy through the Jays website. Got tix right at 3rd base 19 rows up. Seem like good seats. Should be fun!
