  1. Great job knocking Schwelly out of the game Obviously helps this game but getting into their bullpen early should help tomorrow too I doubt Strider goes much longer than 5
  2. Roden's wRC+ is 123 right now. Stats and narratives can change in a hurry this early in the season. In Roden's case it took 2 ABs
  3. Lol yeah would definitely help to get his pitch count up and get him out of the game
  4. The Braves' bullpen sucks Keep this close and we can bust it open after Schwettyballz leaves the game
  5. There we go Roden I had my "send him to Buffalo" post ready to go
  6. I know some of you really hate it when I talk about schedules but the toughest part of it is by far the first month. Nats are the only non-contender we are facing this month. May seems better and then on May 29th through the All-Star break it really opens up for us. 7 games vs the A's 6 vs the ChiSox 3 games vs. the Angels in TO The 2nd half looks good too. 3 games @ LAD which is tough and SF and TX come to town, but otherwise it's the following: EIGHT series against NL/AL Central teams Series against the Rockies and Marlins Division rivals If we can tread water and stay healthy until May 29th we should be in a decent position to make a run.
  7. Need Barger to violently yank one 420 feet down the line to show the boys how it's done tonight
  8. Even if Barger puts up an 0-fer it will be nice to see someone at the plate who is at least trying to knock the ball into the stands
  9. Obviously cheating
  10. You know who might be good is Josh Walker. 5 IP, 3 hits, 8 Ks, 0 walks in Buffalo so far. Dillon Tate is also throwing well.
  11. Jake Bloss is getting torched again today
  12. Yeah that's true. I made him sound like he's a 20 grade power but he got 50 raw and 45 game power grades.
  13. Looks like Barger is up for Lukes who is going to the paternity list Lukes seemed like he wanted to stay with the club anyway, I wonder if this is a precursor to a demotion
  14. Need to get as many lefties in the lineup as possible He's absolute hell on righties
  15. Yeah I’d give Roden and Wagner more rope but you're right to start scrutinizing them. The margins between the various Buffalo Boys were razor-thin to start the year. I think we chose the guys with the best projections, but if one hits his 60th percentile and another hits his 45th, the former’s better. That's how close they are. By the end of April we might want to consider the following: Clase is obviously getting some BABIP luck but his BB/K rates are MUCH improved and he’s an 80-grade runner. No power upside but could be a fine bottom of the order option. Barger’s got big raw power and has been playing playing the infield more than OF this year. I hated his defense last year but he can't be any worse than Wagner. Stefanic is a righty infield option with an elite hit tool that has been playing SS. Then add in Varsho returning and you've got 4 options to replace Roden, Wagner, Lukes and Schneider. The clocks ticking for these guys! Better start hittin' or you can pack your bags for Buffalo!
  16. Looks like the article was written prior to last nights game in which he hit a homer and made some plays in the field to add another 0.2 WAR to his season total
  17. He's gotta be one of the all-time biggest busts in Blue Jays history
  18. Must win game The Yanks took a half game lead on us last night and I don't ever want to feel what it's like to be .500 ever again
  19. I think we are in a decent spot if the biggest concern is a lack of power from Bo, Vlad and Taters though. They'll start hitting homers, I guarantee it. A lot of things are going pretty well. The bullpen might be stabilizing. Hoffman and Yimi are as good as any duo in MLB right now. Then even fringe guys like Barnes are showing signs of life. Springer and Gimenez look like above average bats which helps the middle of the order. Heineman and Straw look like good bench players. Such SSS but Heineman looks to have made some changes. His EVs are drastically different. Rotation has been on fire, though Lucas taking a huge step back last night is concerning. Add Mad Max being completely cooked and the depth is going to be tested this season. Varsho is one of our best players and he's close to returning. Anyway, Bo, Vlad and Taters will regress to the mean, the key will be to soften the regression from the good things happening above.
  20. Yes sir today's game was a great example of that. They had 6 hits to our 5 but it was a laugher, largely because of their bombs with runners on base.
  21. Well I do own Holmes in every fantasy league I have. Former Top prospect who has dealt with tons of injuries but seemingly got healthy last year and showed that he might be ready for a breakout year. In addition, we did tag him for some hard contact but none of it dropped. I think we had at least 8 balls with an xBA of .450 or higher that were outs
