A deep bullpen is your biggest concern? In the playoffs there are more off days. Osuna will be able to pitch damn near every game if we need him too. Biagini, Grilli, Benoit, etc. should be able to do enough too.
Couldn't agree more. We all know what happened but the guy did a bat flip in a really controversial and heated playoff elimination game after he hit a home run. Chickenshits then beaned him in the last game of the season. Similar to the Orioles who have beaned or tried to bean Bautista and then he hits a homer the next pitch and they start crying about it.
We don't have a great shot of winning the AL East which is what I mostly care about. I'd call it a decent shot. Although we do have a great opportunity to at least make the playoffs, I agree with that.
I agree with all of this. This race is TIGHT. It's September and there are three teams for one AL East winner and 5 teams for the AL East winner and 2 WC spots. There are also the teams hanging back a bit further but could make the playoffs with a good month of September. All of us are bunched together really tightly. We fall 3 games back of Boston over the next week or two and the AL East may very well be out of reach. On top of that we are playing like s***. That needs to stop starting tonight.
What? How? lol
It's really basic math. Tied with the Red Sox and if you think we are similarly talented with similar remaining schedules then put it at about 50/50. But you can't forget the Orioles who are a solid team and only a game back. Even if you don't really like them with this few games left they still have a 10% chance or so. Now we are down to 40%, less then a coin flip.
EDIT: My math was a little off, should have been 45% but the point still stands.
We just need to get the win tomorrow and get the hell out of New York. This road trip f***ing sucks.
Have an off day tomorrow with 3 good pitchers going against the Sox. I like our chances to win that series.
Need to pick up a win tomorrow and then it's road games against weak or mediocre teams or home games all the way until the final 3 games of the season. Sox seem to have a tougher schedule after Wednesday.
Pillar isn't a complete waste with the bat like Goins is. Goins can't even hit his weight and he doesn't weight that much.
Also, Pillar's defense in CF is much much better than Goins' defense in the infield.
Yanks throwing a nobody tomorrow. Jays need to light him up and get home. We have a very manageable schedule from here on out. Starts with us throwing our 3 best against the Sox.
1-4 in their last five has put them in the very real position of missing the playoffs. Tigers are the team outside looking in and they are only a game back now. Astros aren't far back either.
