But Gibby is a damn good manager. His in-game strategy is fine. Sometimes his lineups are a little funky or he leaves a starter in too long but it's minor gripes. I think he's probably one of the top managers in this regard.
But on top of that he also seems to manage the players very well. He never throws anyone under the bus when the media tries to bait him into it. He also doesn't take s*** from the umps or opposing managers yet the team refrains from stupid bean ball wars unless they have to. He's a funny guy on top of it all.
I'd sign him to a lifetime contract if it were up to me.
From what I have gathered Gibby is aware of the "3rd time though the order" dropoff but he doesn't adhere to it because he thinks it will wear down a bullpen over the course of the season. I'm not really sure what to make of that.
For the love of god learn how to bunt. I know it's not easy but if you became half decent at it you'd think you could get on base at least 50% of the time.
He sounds boned to me. My guess is he gets suspended for the rest of the season. After that I have no clue...Jays could keep him and try to rehab his image rather than trading him. Also a chance they trade him to someone else and he's pitching 2019 in a different uniform.
Yeah it was different. OJ was convicted of wife beating before the murders and real life celebrity Roy Firestone gave him the softest interview in history to help brush it aside. Seriously, check out the interview some time.
