  1. Aw ok, yeah that could be an option for him as well. I bet he could still cash in on the max from some team though and the Warriors may not be willing to give it to him.
  2. So assuming we get most everyone signed how did we do? I like the first two picks but haven't dived in much on the rest of them nor have I really compared it to other teams.
  3. The equation has changed for Durant anyway. He'll still get a max deal from someone I bet but post-injury I think he needs a good supporting cast now more than ever. The Warriors wouldn't even be a bad place to go back to, depending on how he feels about how this whole injury went down. If they could just reload their bench with some youthful energy and defense they'll be right back in it next year.
  4. You would go to the Hornets or Timberwolves? lol no you wouldn't!
  5. Toronto sports fans are idiots
  6. Good question, I'd probably bet against it unfortunately. Let's say he hits 15-20 more this year. He'd need 80-85 more homers from Age 37 on. That's going to take 3 seasons. Will he still be productive and hitting enough to find the playing time in his Age 39 season? I guess the other option is if somehow can manage to find work as a pinch hitter late in his career like Jason Giambi. Giambi squeezed out an extra 5 seasons starting at age 39 simply by becoming a punch hitter who got 150ish ABs a year. That got him 30 more extra homers. It seems like teams are trending away from using the 25th roster spot on veteran presents though.
  7. It's going to take a miracle for the Warriors to come back. These games aren't even that close right now, the Raptors are scoring incredibly efficiently. The Raptors even won a game where Steph played one of the best games of his life. The Warriors D is trash right now, partially because it has slipped some and largely due to injury. KD is going to have to be a game changer which I suppose is possible but he's coming off an injury. Even if his shot is falling will he be able to help them defensively? On top of it, Cousins' conditioning is bad, Klay is less than 100%, Looney is playing hurt, and their depth is garbage.
  8. Are any of the tanking teams planning on trading their best pitchers like we are? Maybe the Giants trading MadBum? We are right in the thick of the #1 pick race with Stroman and Giles, without them we might be able to get there.
  9. Must be bad luck. If you compare the two teams according to WAR they have way better hitting, nearly 1 WAR's worth better pitching and a lot better fielding. Their RD is 10 runs better than ours as well.
  10. Why are you replying to yourself? Did you forget to sign out of your alt account?
  11. It was ridiculous on several levels and this was one of them. Dude is a 14 year vet or whatever it is.
  12. Montoyo should probably sugar coat things. If they are going to give Jackson another start just say "hes a savvy vet and we are going to give him a another chance to figure it out." Saying we have no one else is good for a laugh at least I guess. But yeah Jackson is horrific and has no future in baseball let alone with this team. Literally anyone, like Romano, would be better.
  13. Replace him with another Edwin Jackson type and you'll see how it can be a lot worse.
  14. We are pretty close with Stroman and Giles, without and I think it's a dead heat. Who is the likely #1 pick next year? There isn't a Harper or Strasburg type is there?
  15. We really really need a pitcher in the upper levels to pan out.
  16. Once we trade Stroman and Giles are we going to be the worst team in baseball?
  17. Cashman bent Atkins over his knee with the Happ deal. Two non-tender candidates for the best left handed starter on the market. Hopefully Atkins learns his lesson if they deal with one another again.
  18. Richard and Jackson in the same rotation...yeesh
  19. No idea how good he'll be post TJS but he was pretty good beforehand.
  20. Is Vlad being punished for lack of hustle yesterday?
  21. Warmoth sucks. 23 years old repeating High A and striking out over 27 percent of the time.
  22. https://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/opinion/2019/06/07/the-jays-must-show-signs-the-rebuild-is-working-or-ross-atkins-extension-might-be-his-last.html Decent article by Chisholm regarding the state of the team and what it means for Atkins.
