  1. Is anyone going to get in this year? Doesn't seem like it.
  2. If we do sign Bauer I can already see the board bitching like crazy about his attitude. Jose Bautista hit 40+ jacks a year and damn near got us to a World Series and you clowns constantly complained about him.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sG351wYB6mc&ab_channel=BestSportsClips If we move to robo umps pitches like this seem like they'd become pretty effective.
  4. When I say players I mean the Player's Union who is tasked with negotiating this and thinks of it more in terms of dollar amounts.
  5. Is there any word on 7-inning double headers? I think it's a good rule to keep while the pandemic is still occurring. Makes it easier to make up games.
  6. I really like that rule too. Nothing worse than a 16 inning game that is (probably) boring to watch and also decimates your bullpen.
  7. The owners benefit more from this plan than the players do. Players don't care that much for universal DH anymore I don't think. It doesn't add an extra roster spot and that position doesn't get paid like it used to.
  8. I would assume that the Yankees are effectively out on Tanaka after signing Kluber and trading for Tallion. Tanaka projects for 3 WAR and is only 32 years old. Seems like a short term deal is all he'll get, so getting a pitcher of that caliber on just a 2 year deal seems like a bargain. I'm sure there are other teams in the mix but I would guess that the Jays have a really good chance to get him. Sign me up.
  9. Yeah he could be a good cheap option. I still like Semien, he has huge WAR potential that the other infield options don't. Probably takes 4 years to get him though and after Springer's megadeal I'm not sure they'll want to do that.
  10. Oh ok yeah you are probably right. I only really see it used with Kris Bryant so my brain must have taken a leap on its own.
  11. It's true but it's also kind of a meme haha. I think it was a scout who said Kris Bryant was going to fail because he has an ugly wife and that it shows a lack of confidence.
  12. He's the new Adam Dunn. Plus he has an ugly wife. Hard pass.
  13. There's too many good options out there to be disappointed in not signing Kim. He's probably the most fun of all the infield options but his outcomes are also probably the most volatile. Semien, Didi, etc. would all be fine signings too and those guys are more sure things as they have track records of hitting against big league pitching.
  14. I'd be cool with Kim but I have no idea how good he'll be. I'd rather sign someone like Semien.
  15. Quinn is terrible but I forgot about Haseley. He might not be a whole lot worse than Grichuk but then again if they can save 5 mil and roll with Grichuk maybe they'd be willing.
  16. Yeah I just don't see Roark going anywhere. And it's not the big of a deal. We can eat 8+ mil to get rid of him or swap bad contracts but in the end he's at least SP depth and he's got 1 year left on a deal that is unlikely to preclude us from doing anything we want this offseason anyway.
  17. Grichuk for Segura, with whatever else needs thrown in from both/either side, makes a lot of sense for us but I don't know enough about the Phillies to know if they'd be interested or not. Seems like they might be depending on how they feel about Grichuk or McCutchen in CF next year.
  18. Such a bad organization. No other team in the league would benefit more from a forward-thinking analytical front office than them.
  19. Come on you guys. This post was pretty funny and not even 1 like. ********.
  20. He's a really good defensive 2B. Signing him and moving Biggio to 3B would improve our run prevention quite a bit IMO. I'd def consider Wong as an option.
  21. I would sign him but I heard he's a registered sex offender in the state of Florida so he has to reside there. He can get a waiver to travel for a limited number of away games (that's why he only wants to pitch for half the season) but otherwise that means he has to play for the Rays or Marlins.
  22. I think we should sign Charlie Morton. He'd look good at the top of the rotation.
  23. If payroll is tight then isn't a guy like Ray about as good as we'll be able to do anyway?
