  1. Surprised Vazquez is still in the game after he got steamrolled by 118 pounds of pure athleticism
  2. Get out of the way or get steamrolled by the Rocket!
  3. If I’m Ross Atkins I’m calling up the Sox and making lowball offers for Devers and Bogaerts after the game
  4. We turned the Sox into deadline sellers in 4 innings lol
  5. Let's just dump some overrated prospects for Soto (they don't need someone on a similar timeline like Bo anyway) and then in the offseason after we win the World Series we can trade Soto for a different package of overrated prospects. Hopefully you prospect junkies can go three months without jerking off to a stellar Top 10 list but a WS trophy should hold you over for a few months.
  6. I'd definitely try and trade for Soto. The Nats are a garbage franchise, we could probably roll with him in the middle of the lineup for the rest of this year and next and then trade him in the offseason for a bigger haul than what gave up.
  7. He's underrated on this board easy. Everyone talks about him like he was total trash but for the 3 years we were in contention he put up 3.2 WAR a year. Seems like a pretty good player to me.
  8. Joe Carter is actually underrated and you all need to stop hating on him. He was really good as a Blue Jay for his age 31-33 seasons while they were contending the 3 years after acquiring him. It's not his fault he turned 34 and the team inexplicably batted him in the middle of the lineup for another 4 years. Also, let's not forget he hit one of the biggest home runs in baseball history. Dude is a legend.
  9. Yeah 2.5 years isn’t a rental, particularly when some of the names going the other way don’t have that much more control.
  10. Any takers on this one?
  11. Extend Tilapia. 10 years 1 million each year to lock him up through his age 38 season where he’ll slash .260/.250/.260.
  12. What makes Zuleta a better prospect than Frasso?
  13. It seems like a couple of things. Montoyo is one of the most extreme player friendly managers I’ve seen. It’s natural for him but he also makes a concerted effort to be that way when he says things like “we played really well” after 8 game losing streaks to the Oakland A’s of the league. Maybe it’s just an act that got stale with the FO or the players or both. Might as well see if a new act can work. Second, Schneider always seemed like the manager-in-training with the way they’ve been treating him. It was just a matter of time before they made him manager and now seemed like a good time to try him out. GMs get one free manager firing and Atkins used it. But now with giving Schneider a half season Atkins can make another move if he doesn’t think Schneider has the chops. It’s almost a free look at the guy they’ve been grooming.
  14. And yet despite a dumpster fire bullpen Charlie would pull a starter anytime they got to 85 pitches like an 86th pitch would literally make their elbows explode. Dude couldn’t manage a staff to save his life.
  15. For the love of god I pray he takes away that home run jacket and the sunflower seeds
  16. No but I definitely wasn't refunding their leagues fees. (Which is also kind of hilarious because Bob's boss was sponsoring the team for years so Bob and I just use the league dues on bar tabs and never told anyone.) Unfortunately I got kicked out of the bar for life after having one too many on NYE in '98. I've tried to get in several times since and they still won't let me in there but I took a couple of peeks through the side window and the trophy is still on the wall with our team name on it. Anyway, my point is that Chucky is way too soft and so are the players. A little yelling never hurt anyone, I don't care what you young people think (which includes my two youngest sons and youngest daughter). Sometimes you gotta be tough with people.
  17. No longer a tough guy. I’ve only been in one fight since turning 60 a couple of years ago. (Basically I had just gotten another divorce and the guy had it coming when he started mouthing off to my friend Spanky who posts here.) Bit I do know something about managing a team. We won 8 darts championships in the mid 90s at my local bar. Anytime someone was throwing them like s*** all I would have to do is get in their face a little bit. If that didn’t work I’d get someone new to join the team. Pretty simple really.
  18. Let’s face it. If Gibbons were the manager of this team Kikuchi would have been on the DL weeks ago after Gibbons rightfully put his foot up Kikuchi’s ass for sucking so bad. Imagine this tweet from a horrified Arash Mafatty: “The club has placed SP Yusei Kikuchi on the DL after manager John Gibbons whooped his ass in a fist fight following Kikuchi’s removal in the 2nd inning of last night’s game. I’ve been told there’s no time table for his return but Kikuchi left eye is swollen shut after a Gibbons right hook.”
  19. Lol wow bro the best manager in team history used to literally FIST FIGHT his own players and you’re worried about a little yelling? Do you think Yankee fans show concern if Aaron Boone starts chewing ass in the dugout?
  20. Chucky can play the bongos, juggle and teach tap dancing classes after the games for all I care as long as the team is WINNING. But if we aren't WINNING then things like playing dress up (the home run jacket) and pranks involving sunflower seeds need to STOP. In fact I wouldn't let them even eat sunflower seeds until they start winning, let alone the pranks. Chaw should be allowed but veterans only. Rookies need to focus on the game. The nerds upstairs can assemble the greatest set of strat-o-matic cards the game has ever seen, but unless Chucky starts getting them ready for the games they aren't going to win. Period.
  21. Wow let me guess you're a Zoomer?
  22. Do you think Chucky is all rainbows and sunshine to the media and behind the scenes he's ripping the players' *******s? Lol yeah right the guy is softer than a roll of Charmin toilet paper
  23. Valencia always seemed like a nut job. He'd sit at the very end of the dugout near the stairs and would be maniacally yelling/laughing the whole game. Seemed like the rest of the team made a point of it to ignore him. Dude was traded 5 times in his 9 year career.
  24. John Gibbons deserves a Cross of Valour for managing the 2015 team as well as he did. Donaldson Reyes/Tulowitzki Pillar Bautista Danny Valencia Stroman Osuna Sanchez among others
  25. LOL the only thing being played well this past week was Buntoyo’s bongos when he should have been reading scouting reports instead
