  1. It's Tim Mayza's fault that Carlos Santana crushes lefties? It's Anthony Bass' fault that Raimel Tapia can't field and Jack Bradley Jr can?
  2. Well yeah I'm not expecting him to be a #2 again. But if he can be a 4 or a 5 for half a season before we lose him I'll take it.
  3. Notice the cowards who didn't vote on this poll. *Looking at you BTS and Laika*
  4. Yeah Pablo Sandoval, the fat ass who put up 3.2 WAR in his Age 27 as a 3B. The same age we have Kirk controlled through.
  5. Holy s*** Bruce Bochy was available? And he came back to manage the sorry ass Texas Rangers of all teams? Lol you cannot tell me with a straight face that you'd rather have Schneider over him.
  6. Lol then what is John Schneider playing? It sure as hell ain't chess. Dude couldn't even put the right defensive replacement in either.
  7. Yeah we have possibly 3 Top 10 Catchers on the roster all at once. Trading one to fill a need, even if the return is a worse player, is going to improve the team. The return just needs to be within the same vicinity as the Catcher we are shipping out IMO. Seeing as Jansen only has 2 years of control, he would be my choice to trade because it's only 2 years. Even if he hits 4 WAR each of the next two years it won't really sting us THAT bad with Kirk and Moreno around. So all that said, Varsho would be close enough for Kirk IMO. I don't think the D-Bags would be that interested though.
  8. Literally anyone else can read splits lmao. Schneider can't. Carlos Santana hits like an All-Star against lefties and couldn't get a hit against a girls high school softball pitcher if she threw right handed.
  9. ^Intolerant and bigoted fat shamer
  10. *John Schneider plays a starring role in the worst playoff meltdown in MLB in 100 years* *Jays reward him with a 3 year contract* BJMB: "Good extension"
  11. Nope, the budgets are mostly used to retain players. It's also a soft cap so you're only required to be at $300 bucks at the conclusion of the waiver draft. You can make trades and pickups afterward that put you over but you have to cut before the draft again next year. What the smart teams generally do is try to use up most of their budget on retaining players and end up with little to spend in the waiver draft. If Yelich were in the draft he'd probably go between 30 and 40 bucks I would imagine and would be one of the top 5 guys in the waiver draft easy. That's how s***** the waiver draft is.
  12. 81% of you agree that Game 2 was acceptable and should be rewarded with a new contract. Yikes.
  13. I don't blame ya. He faded into mediocrity.
  14. What do you guys make of Yelich? I have him in a dynasty league and he's taking up about 11% of my budget. $34 to keep and we have a $300 salary cap. My cap situation is pretty good and given the rules of this league the free agency auction is always weak (players only go up $3 every year). So he's definitely a keeper to someone in the league but I won't drop him. But I doubt I'd get a ton of value for him via trade. So my options are probably trade for peanuts (if anything I could get a similar pricey underperformer like him or get a pick and the salary relief to use in acquiring other guys in different trades) or I could just keep him. What do you guys think?
  15. So I see that you're a fan of managers that fold under the pressure of the playoffs. Interesting...
  16. I've cooled off a bit after Game 2 so I won't call in a bomb threat to Rogers Centre if they bring him back (I definitely would have before!) but I'm still pretty pissed off. Not really sure who would be better as Schneider seemed pretty good in the regular season. If Francona could be enticed I'd consider it but he didn't exactly light the world on fire in his series with the Yankees.
  17. You guys won't believe some of the trades I've been cooking up over the past 8 hours. Someone tell me how to get in contact with Ross. He'll s*** his pants when he sees these beauties.
  18. I hear ya but that just seems like such a waste. C is higher on the defensive spectrum and by all accounts he's great there.
  19. If we don't find a trade could we keep all 3? What would that look like? Service time manipulation on Moreno to get an extra year? And then trying him out at LF/2B/3B and using him in case of injury?
  20. Lol He's an excellent fit for a team with excess Catching talent because his bat is so good he can also DH and bat cleanup for us. That's a feature he provides us, it isn't a bug. And you talk about Kirk like he should primarily DH but he probably prevents more runs for us than the other two Catchers because of his elite pitch framing.
  21. I don't see the D-Bags doing that trade. Varsho can play C as is, so no real point in moving him for a similarly talented C. Varsho just happens to be so damn good in CF that they are going to move him there mostly full time. I'm not even sure how much interest they'd have in Kirk. Between Varsho and Carson Kelly they aren't exactly in dire straights at the position and it's not like they have excess pitching to move.
  22. Jansen would be a beast in the Astros ballpark with that short left field. Yeesh.
  23. I didn't realize he was that good. My knowledge on non-Jays prospects isn't great.
