  1. Interesting! Thanks
  2. Does anyone know why Montreal got a team before Toronto did?
  3. Hmm it's a pretty mediocre group of franchises. None of the teams have been great over the years and a lot of them are just downright awful. Jays have been better than people give them credit for but they were just in a tough division for a lot of the time and that precluded any postseason glory from happening. I would agree that it's either them or the Astros.
  4. Would be worth it for the Keith Law meltdown alone
  5. The journalists will be very mad online
  6. Tomi Lahren's husband is coaching in the Mets org now
  7. Chad Pinder would probably be dirt cheap. His numbers cratered out last year and I don't know if that was due to injury or what but he hit the ball pretty damn hard prior to last year. 118 wRC+ against lefties in his career. He can play the infield and a corner OF spot, but not sure he does any of it well. But for the 26th man he'd probably do the trick.
  8. Those were highly relevant and productive discussions related directly to the team and I feel like I educated the board a lot in those threads.
  9. I can't tell which ones I like most as they all seem pretty similar for the most part. Sportsnet's seems fine. It gives a little more info than most of the others. I don't like the white background with the logo though. They should go with this logo and make the entire upper part of it blue as the white sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe that's what they want but it doesn't look right.
  10. I used to like Bauer a lot. Yeah he was a heel who wasn’t for everyone but I liked his devotion to his craft and his use of advanced stats and progressive training techniques. After the sexual assault allegations I lost some respect for him. I don’t hate him for that but he’s no longer one of my favorite players. But now I hate him more than anyone in the league simply because of the endless and pointless debates that he causes. Hoping he signs somewhere soon, hopefully in Japan so we can quit talking about him.
  11. Did you forget about my Tapia posts? Those were very very popular.
  12. Thank you but the very detailed nuance you provided doesn't allow me to dunk on all the Bellinger fanboys as easily so I'm just going to stick with the Cubs.
  13. Btw I still need that divorce lawyer in the $200-$300 range if anyone has one. Laika do you do divorces? And now I need a DUI attorney and possibly a personal injury attorney specializing in motorcycle accidents as well? Anybody? Spanky?
  14. Oh come on I've had some all-time great posts and you know it.
  15. Vierling has an interesting statcast page to say the least. He hits the ball hard but doesn't barrel it? But The highlight might be his 97th percentile sprint speed combined with a 5th percentile OF jump lol. Overall he's smack in the middle for OAA.
  16. Maton did show some signs of life with his bat in both AAA and in a brief stint in MLB. If that's an indicator of some sort of improvement he could be a useful piece, particularly because he bats left.
  17. Rangers, Rays or (most likely) Japan for Bauer. I used to like him but the guy is a dipshit for slapping around the town bike in the Me Too era, whether she asked for it or not. Sayonara pal. And lol @ anyone suggesting the Jays should sign him. I can't think of another team in the league less likely to sign him than us.
  18. Very strange. It's like the Tigers GM got lazy and wanted to fill out his s***** bench in the easiest way possible. If you squint you can see one of the three guys he got becoming decent if they hit their 75th percentile projections. And I guess Maton bats left which is a nice feature for a fringe infield type like him.
  19. Lol I almost forgot that 90 percent of you in some poll picked Bellinger over KK and then tried fighting me IRL for picking KK. Then the worst franchise in sports history picked Bellinger and the Jays got KK. Lmao
  20. With guns this big can you blame me?
  21. “Future superstar” according to some.
  22. We had an extra 40 man spot so Fernandez makes a ton of sense. Him and Merryweather are both out of options though so will need to be on the big league team to open the year or we'll lose them.
  23. This is a good pickup. Fangraphs wrote an entire article about him back in November when the Yankees picked him up: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/what-will-the-yankees-do-to-help-junior-fernandez/. According to Statcast he can hit 100 mph with both his 4-Seamer and Sinker.
  24. Wow Jim that was pretty rude. I thought they did a good job.
  25. It depends on what they want to do next year. With Ryu coming off the books could they get under to reset the luxury clock? If so then it wouldn't really matter much this year. Also, if they are under to start the year, but go over after the trade deadline how does that play out? There's a lot of stuff to the luxury tax that the team will be more on top of than us and I would assume that they'll play it right given the info that they have.
