  1. Vlad can't even must a "best shape of his life" quote this time around so you know we was fat and lazy this offseason.
  2. Not once have I ever jumped off a roof while smoking weed. Yes, it's happened a couple of other times while smoking other substances but never weed.
  3. Lol I legit thought you were directing it at jaysblue my bad
  4. Yeah they screwed up this offseason and it's going to have big implications for next year. Even if things break right for them, they'll need a minimum of 2 starting pitchers next year and one of them needs to be top of the line. If Grayson Rodriguez doesn't look like a frontline starter then both of them probably need to be top tier. If things don't break right for them then they might need 3 or even 4 starting pitchers. Impossible for them to accomplish in 1 offseason. And that's just their rotation. The bullpen will need work. But among the non-Rutschman-Henderson-Mullins position player group, I think most of them project to be sub 2 WAR players moving forward. Their prospects will help but they'll need to make a couple of signings here as well. Add it all up and these cheapskates are going to need a monumental offseason to whip this team into a contender in 2024. We are probably talking upwards of $200 to $300 million dollars worth of contracts. And given their history I don't see it happening.
  5. Wow! Someone woke up a little bit cranky this morning!
  6. This is why they are a garbage franchise Jim
  7. O’s bring back Machado lol
  8. Well if just general excitement no matter who wins is your criteria then Game 2 against the M's would rank up there with Carter's home run game?
  9. Please enlighten me on which game was worse than losing a playoff elimination game after having an 8-1 lead in the 6th lol
  10. Right, so their Opening Day starter is Kyle Gibson lol. Fair to say that their rotation sucks at least?
  11. "Suck" is a pretty subjective term that I'm using loosely. Are they going to be 62-100 like they seemingly have for the past decade? No. (But with that pitching staff they might be closer than you think.) Are they a sucky franchise who are going to waste the luck they've gotten with some of their prospects? Absolutely and they're proving it right now. They aren't smart like the Rays but they seem to want to spend like them. They also "Suck" because they had a -14 RD and act like they won the Wild Card spot. They did almost nothing to improve a bad team other than rely on their youth while the Jays and Yanks got better and the Rays are still hanging around. So in those ways yes, I think they suck and I'm not scared of them at all. They'll be competing with the Red Sox to avoid the cellar.
  12. Another thing to remember is that Grayson Rodriguez probably has a pretty significant innings cap. He's thrown over 100 innings once in his career to date. Last year he threw 75.
  13. Just have to outbid them. Throw another year on there and they probably get him. They should have been in on Verlander and DeGrom as well. Their payroll is so pathetically low that if they signed Verlander to 50 mil a year for 2 years it'd still be a below average payroll. If they couldn't stomach spending on one of those guys then they should have gone after at least 2 guys in the 2nd tier.
  14. I can see why they didn't spend on the offense. I think a lower tier OF would have made some sense though. But they definitely needed starting pitching. They project to have the 4th worst starting rotation in the league based on WAR projections. Rodon made tons of sense for them even with the high price tag. Failing that I think some mid tier guys with high upside like Heaney or Tyler Anderson would have been big for them as well. They needed like 2 or 3 mid tier guys. Instead they dumpster dove for Gibson and now they've got Grayson Rodriguez and a collection of backend guys with almost no depth. They basically wasted a year of this core by solidifying themselves into 4th place.
  15. Yeah like Laika said in some sort of bizzarely boastful way I can say I was there. Anytime we play the Mariners that game is being brought up and the highlights will be shown. It's basically the pinnacle moment in the garbage Mariners' franchise history. I can say I was there and everyone can laugh at me. If we win another World Series that will definitely take the sting off but it almost needs to be won with this core group. Or at least with a key player from 2022 like Vlad leading the charge. It's been pretty disappointing that in the past two years we've got nothing to show with a team this talented. Hopefully 2023 makes up for it in a big way.
  16. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/red-sox Outside of Devers that lineup looks like the Oakland A's lol. Loving Kike Hernandez starting at SS and batting 2nd.
  17. Yeah the O's are going to suck too. They've got some young talent that gives them some hope but last year's 83-79 contained a lot of fool's gold. They had a -14 RD which would normally put them at 79-83. Their fans acted like they won the division after that season LOL. If the young talent steps up and they have normal luck that could just get them back to 83 wins again. They needed to spend some money this offseason but they didn't and Kyle Gibson, Mychal Givens, James McCann and Adam Frazier aren't going to get it done.
  18. Similar to my experience. Neither my dad nor I spoke the entire time after the game on the Go Train. Maybe after the first 15 minutes on the ride back my dad turned to me and said, "Can you believe that s***?" I think I was in denial. Over the coming days anger took over and like any true diehard fan I sent John Schneider several death threats to his email address. That seemed to help me let off some steam a lot. But while we were on the train there was a couple sitting next to us and the girl would not quit talking about the game, which players will be back, whether they should get season tickets or not, etc. In retrospect I admire her spirit but her boyfriend just sat there slack jawed and in silence the entire time. Kind of funny looking back on it.
  19. These changes are going to be awesome. It reminds me a lot of what Coors Field is like in downtown Denver. The team always sucks ass but they usually crack Top 10 in attendance anyway (despite the weather in April and May being very iffy) based upon the strength of the location and the bar scene at the stadium. Girls go to the bars at the stadium bc they can dress up in Rockies gear and take pics for instagram without actually having to watch baseball. As for guys, girls + baseball = the perfect summer time activity. Then after the game everyone can go out downtown to party. The tickets are usually dirt cheap for this section but the team makes up for it in alcohol sales and they also get to build their brand. I'm too intense of a Jays fan to want to do anything more than check it out for the first time when I go to a game. It'll be an awful place to watch the game but for 20 and 30 something year old casuals this will make a huge difference. The family section is an interesting aspect to this. I'm sure other stadiums have versions of this and Coors Field has some family stuff but this seems like a more dedicated family section than I've seen elsewhere.
  20. The amount of coping by Red Sox fans on twitter is hilarious right now. Many of them have convinced themselves that signing Adam Duvall followed by Elvis Andrus would be key moves to help them contend for the Wild Card. When they are out of contention and in last place some time around the end of May it's going to be a lot of fun watching the meltdowns.
  21. Is it just me or is Ramon Laureano really underrated? Steamer projects him to hit 22 homers with 17 steals. Yet most of the sites have him ranked around top 50 for outfielders.
  22. Rocket Raimel signing with the Red Sox is just too perfect lol
  23. Ok thanks I’ll tell William to kick rocks then
  24. How good is Oneil Cruz in a dynasty format? The infamous William is offering me Buxton and a bunch of mediocre stuff for Cruz in a 14 team dynasty league that we are in.
