If the Jays can take this series with the Mariners, they will gain ground on either the Yanks or the Twins who play each other. Time to go on a bit of a winning streak. I don't think they can catch the Yankees but the wild card is certainly within reach.

You'd think they called up some scrub from the minors to catch today. Navarro has been hitting and is a competent enough catcher, plus he is probably getting showcased. Everyone on here is calling for him to be traded...pretty hard to do if he's not playing. Martin has been nursing some minor injuries, so any rest he can get behind the plate will help in the long term. -
Good night all around for the organization. Really anxious to see what Alford and Tellez do in Dunedin...good start.

I'm sure the gun at Cola field is off. Watched Norris pitch a couple of times and he was lucky to break 90, so I sat behind some scouts who had their own guns and they were at least 2-3 mph faster.

Ya that negative energy really f***ed up Osuna. Imagine that..Gibby rests Donaldson and Martin and they get the win with Valencia and Navarro contributing..Genius.

How cute was Jamie Campbell kid singing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game". I'm actually getting to like Campbell's work.....Gomer Barker,not so much...bring back Cliff Floyd.

He has 23 strike outs in 21 innings in AAA but he also has 22 walks, so command is not there yet. Good luck to him tho . Would be a nice story.

Hazel is way past being hot and Barker is the worst analyst I've ever heard. On 590 today, he mentioned that Goins is starting to hit because he gave up going opposite field and started pulling the ball...guess he missed the opposite shots off the wall and in the gap. What a waste of air. On the other hand ,what a breath of fresh air Cliff Floyd was this weekend..sign this guy up and while I'm on this broadcasting rant, PLEASE no more Faulds. -
I watched him play a few games in extended spring before he went to Lansing. What stood out to me was his size and maturity...he looks and plays like a 24 year old...covers a ton of ground in CF. He's going to turn some heads.

Does Kevin Barker remind anyone else of Gomer Pyle..Golllly. Could they not find someone a little more articulate than Captain Obvious.

Any word on J.D.Davis? He played 1 or 2 games in Dunedin and hasn't played since.

Actually, he got lucky..was bailed out twice on great plays by Diaz. Pillar is not the only one that sucks, the whole outfield sucks. With Joey Bats not out there, they have 3 platoon or dh type players manning the outfield and that will become 4 when Navarro gets back. Kudos to AA for bringing us Donaldson and Travis but there is no way Navarro should still be on this team. Too bad they had to give up Gose for Travis.

I was at the Bison's game today as was AA. Norris got out of a few jams today but rarely threw the fastball and it sat at 90, although I question the gun today. It had some fastballs in the low 80's that were clearly higher than that...even had one pitch at 63. Ken Pompey also at the game even though Dalton didn't play...says Dalton will be back playing on Friday.

I wonder why there has been no word on Pompey missing the last week.Are the Jays hiding something?

I would put Bats out there bad arm and all or bring up DSJ. Anything has to be better than playing Pillar on a regular basis or Carrera anytime.I've watched Pompey in Buffalo and am a big fan, but he has looked awful. Hope he gets his confidence back.

Why not bring up Felix Duobront as a 5th starter? Move Sanchez or Estrada to the pen.

Tim Raines signed ball. Aaron Sanchez signed ball. Daniel Norris signed ball. Dalton Pompey signed picture. Jeff Hoffman signed ball. Dave Stewart signed ball. Noah Synderguaard signed ball. Ricky Romero signed ball ( anyone want it). -
Final opportunity to watch Hoffman today...going home on Friday. Only went 2 and a third innings because of pitch count...not quite as sharp as I've seen him...50 pitches, 19 balls. Sat at 93-95 with 4 k's,1 walk and one single. So, a summary of his 4 outings goes like this...9.1 innings,1 hit, 1 walk ,1 hbp, 18 k's. Also saw Hollon, Stilson, and Cordona today. Cordona looked good sitting around 93 with his fastball.. Hollon only pitched 1 inning and seemed very pleased with his outing.

Probably Smoral..looked pretty good Friday in extended.

Ricky Romero has been released by the Jays. Strange things going on in Blue Jays land. He pitched today in Extended Spring before Clinton Hollon and then is released later today. Sorry. I didn't notice that this topic had already been started.
