  1. Probably the second best pitcher in Cuba after Norge Ruiz. He's young and new on the scene and really took a big step in terms of stuff this season. I think Badler said he has the potential to be a 1/2 starter.
  2. Not that we had a chance since we have a verbal agreement to sign VG jr next year and can't exceed our bonus pool before then but. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/01/diamondbacks-to-sign-yoan-lopez.html
  3. I might if I have time this holiday. I didn't want to telegraph any of my prospect targets prior to our fantasy draft.
  4. AA must have really loved my Breaking Blue article, first he acquires Travis now Guilmet. lol http://www.breakingblue.ca/2013/11/22/the-expendables/ Next on his list Christian Binford. j/k
  5. I doubt it's the Jays but the price is pretty reasonable albeit with some inherent risk. 5M posting fee, and he's looking for 5-6M over 4 years. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/nexen-expected-to-accept-jung-ho-kang-posting-fee-from-unknown-mlb-team.html

I don't know, ask the guy. I signed it. Not sure what it'll do, but I signed a petition a while back to save one of my favorite shows from cancelation and it was indeed saved due to "fan backlash," so why not.

Hey Broski clear your PM's. Folders mate!
  9. The byline being qualified with the words "Special to" usually means it's a stringer article and not staff. Something someone sent in unsolicited that the editor thought worthy of printing. These articles usually do not entail payment. Getting a byline in a major paper is usually payment enough. I have a friend who works at the Post though, so I'll ask them if he's actually working for the publication.
  10. Relief pitching is their most ubiquitous and most replaceable asset, but if they wanna trade something better and less replaceable I wouldn't argue either. lol
  11. If Grandal is really going to the Dodgers, maybe San Diego would have interest in Navarro as well. Benoit, Thayer, Alvarez, Quackenbush, Vincent would all be intriguing relief options.
  12. Not sure if this was posted yet but Arizona considering Navarro apparently. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/teams/arizona-diamondbacks/diamondbacks-interested-in-blue-jays-navarro/ Could be a decent fit. They have some pretty decent relievers both on their 25 man roster and in the minors. I'm not sure if Evan Marshall is realistic, but he'd be a really nice return. They also have Delgado among the non lefty relievers. In the minors Jimmie Sherfy, Kaleb Fleck, Jake Barrett, and Enrique Burgos are all hard throwing guys with late inning potential, with Fleck, Barrett, Sherfy the closest to being ready to pitch in 2015.
  13. I like Realmuto better, at least defensively. Barnes is probably better as a second baseman or super utility guy.
  14. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/103645646/yoan-moncada-yoan-lopez-lead-cluster-of-cuban-prospects
  15. The Rangers, Cubs, Rays, and Red Sox also did it to some extent. But the way the Yankees just blew the bonus pools to smithereens, was exactly what I had in mind. Instead of adding 2 top talents a year, they add 10, and get to do it again in two years (provided in International draft isn't in place yet). If there is an International Draft, then this move is even better.
  16. So funny how the Yankees did on the IFA market this year what I was harping on the Jays to do when the international spending limits first became a thing. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=25149 BP discusses the number of reasons it was a good move.
  17. I'd gladly take Kazmir or Doolittle off their hands.
  18. I'm not sure. I think it's Davidi who keeps mentioning the Rangers with regards to Navarro. Is Chirinos good defensively or at pitch framing. Don't know much about him, but he doesn't seem that good at a cursory glance.
  19. Kazmir for Kevin Pillar please.
  20. Holy s***, we could have had Moss for Ryan Goins? lol
  21. What other teams are in need of a starting catcher and could use Navarro? The Rangers have been mentioned. Wonder if they could be persuaded to part with Feliz. Claudio and Mendez are also interesting though unproven relievers. They also have Leonys Martin (for center?), and Luis Sardinas (more major league ready second baseman than Travis). We'd likely have to add a little, but filling a need and clearing Navarro's salary would be great.
  22. We should hit up the Mariners again. They have a ton of nice bullpen arms. Rodney, Medina, Furbush, Smith, Maurer, Leone, Farquhar. I'm not sure of what their other needs are though.
  23. Another Cana'jun.
  24. Molina's been released by the Rays. Excellent defender and pitch-framer. Trade Navarro and Thole and sign Molina to be backup catcher plus Dickey's personal caddy?
