Guaimaro and fellow prospect Christopher Martinez went a combined 4-6 with 3 runs and 2 rbi. Top prospect Starling Heredia went 2-4 with a double, a stolen base, a run, and an rbi. I don't know much about Martinez but as I said before, I really want Guaimaro.

    KK, your inbox is full. I'm on my way out for a while so here was my reply. If you're trying to compete this year absolutely. If not you might miss a chance at a nice young guy who gets called up. Last year players that fit that category in the BBDL were Marco Gonzales, Jacob DeGrom, Jimmy Nelson, Chris Taylor, etc.

    I hate the fact that it seems like this class isn't as good as last years. Minogue seems to think that Lara and Rondon from last year are better than anyone in this class. Did we pick the wrong year to go all out on IFAs? I really hope we go after Yaddy Alvarez as well.

    Amazing news! We're still going to have to fight off the Cubs and Rangers, but at least our hands aren't theoretically tied. Adding Vlad Jr. and Yaddy Alvarez or Gutierrez would be a monster signing period in and of itself.

    This wouldn't make a ton of sense given our lack of interest in the other Cubans, and our bonus pool commitment to Vladdy Jr so don't kill the messenger.     I wonder if there's a loophole that would allow you to trade for more IFA pool money even if you get max penalties imposed? Like sign Moncada, and trade for 3.5M in bonus pool space to sign Guerrero since you already agreed with him. It feels like the Jays picked the wrong year to go all out. Even 2016 might be better with generational prospect Kevin Maitan as the top talent.
