  1. Hollon was usually 92-94 when I saw him at the PG National, and he can sometimes touch 96-97 according to reports. Is sitting 92 considered a bad thing? I mean if he's topping out at 92, that's a different story.
  2. Good to see Hollon starting off well. I was a big fan of picking him out of high school. Another good young arm.
  3. Thank you Krylian, may King Kai be generous to you in the after life.
  4. Can anyone with a BA subscription please post these? Thanks. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/ten-top-international-prospects-july-2cubaguerrero/ http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/updates-top-cuban-players-available/
  5. Yeah, I could see him being a top 10 selection in a few years.
  6. Boring name syndrome probably. Same thing happened to Kel Johnson last year. jk I think he probably just didn't perform as expect and other guys stepped up. Aiello was a top 10-20 pick in many early rankings as well.
  7. I haven't looked much into the guys listed but I liked Aiello, Day, and McKay in the past. The guys with commitments to non elite programs are probably easier signs: Kyle Dean, Kyle Wilson, Chatfield, Dayton Dugas, Patrick Sandoval, Patrick McFadden, Wesley Rodriguez, Marquise Doherty, Luke Wakamatsu, Joe Demers, Nick Neidert.
  8. If we save enough off from the below slot guys to offer a guy 800k-1M post 10th round who do you guys want out of this group? (obviously a few are unlikely to sign for so little like Hooper, etc.) Donny Everett - Vanderbilt Justin Hooper - UCLA Luken Baker - TCU Chandler Day - Vanderbilt Cole Sands - Florida State Kyle Molnar - UCLA Alonzo Jones - Vanderbilt Tristan Beck - Stanford Kep Brown - Miami Nick Neidert - South Carolina Cole McKay - LSU Joe Demers - Washington Luke Wakamatsu - Rice Jonathan India - Florida Tristin English - Georgia Tech Jackson Kowar - Clemson Wesley Rodriguez - San Jacinto JC Marquise Doherty - Missouri Garrett Davila - Tennessee Doak Dozier - Virginia Brendon Little - North Carolina Bryan Hoeing - Louisville Parker McFadden - Washington State Nick Sprengel - San Diego Nick Enright - Virginia Tech Joey Bart - Georgia Tech Patrick Sandoval - Southern California Colton Eastman - Cal State Fullerton Dayton Dugas - Wichita State Fitz Stadler - Arizona State Chris Andristos - Oklahoma Kyle Dean - Brigham Young Kyle Wilson - Crowder JC Daniel Reyes - Florida Chris Chatfield - South Florida John Aiello - Wake Forest Jonathan Englemann - Michigan
  9. Interesting observation BB. Could be a way to save some pennies for later while filling a system need (bullpen)?
  10. Matt Boyd (albeit a Senior) was ranked #72 in his draft year (drafted 175 overall) and signed for 75k (over 150k below slot) and he was arguably a better prospect than Bergen in a better conference. Bergen drafted 212 overall in a weaker draft with a stronger draft next year if he returns as a Senior will likely be below slot, which as people have already clarified many times is what they meant by punting in it's current incarnation. I'll guess around 100k bonus just for being a Junior, but wouldn't be surprised if it's slightly lower.
  11. Like that Iskendarian pick by Milwaukee. I wonder if he could move to second base. Bat would profile better there.
  12. Graveman was a nice get, especially since he helped net us Donaldson. He signed for only 5k (0.03% of his slot value of 150+k) Boyd looks like he'll be useful too and he only signed for 75k (30% of his slot value of 250k) More of those guys please.
  13. King, how much do you think Wise and Espada sign for? Or what per cent of their slot?
  14. That's pretty much it. The strategy has evolved. They probably realized that the best value is in saving money without WASTING a pick. Just have to do a better job scouting and finding hidden gems.
  15. Who was that guy who said he would sign for a hot dog again? Azor?
  16. I don't think we'll know until we find out what he signs for. For what it's worth, I expect this pick to sign for well below slot, though obviously not for 5,000 or a hot dog.
  17. Be prepared to have this requoted later if they do just that.
  18. Nice pick by the Dodgers imo. Really liked this guy even coming out of high school. For some reason I thought he signed with the Rays that year.
  19. Can't remember if it was Kiley or Chris Crawford who I read it from last night, but he said Vlad Jr. would go first round in this draft if he was available.
  20. Players I liked who are still on the board (not necessarily for round 4 but for the rest of the draft) Probably not signable at this point: John Aiello Chandler Day The rest: Trey Cabbage Josh Sborz Demi Orimoloye Ryan Cole McKay Joel Piniero Mitchell Traver David Thompson Justin Garza John Kilichowski Chris Chinea Kevin McCanna Max Schrock Willie Calhoun Bubba Derby Kyle Twomey Cody Poteet Ryan Perez (just cause it'd be cool. lol)
  21. Cleveland with a pretty nice draft in addition to Aiken. Mathias another solid offensive minded middle infielder.
  22. Watched some video of Harris last night. I liked his secondaries much better than his fastball. Above average curve and change. Fastball was 90-91, max 92 in this outing though than the reported 92-94. Hopefully he's closer to 92-94 as a pro (either through strength gains, adjustments, or weighted ball program). This isn't Deck though, as he has legit above average pitches even if they are his secondaries.
